Game CTDs On New Game

[Darkening Demise]

So I decided I wanted to get back to making mods again out of boredom. Problem is since reinstalling the game I can't get past character creation. Once I make the character the game freezes and crashes. Then I cannot load the save anymore. LOOT and NMM are not giving me anything about errors.

I assume you're doing character creation in some "Another Life" mode?  What happens if you disable that mod and do the vanilla start?

Have you checked whether any "plugins" have not been activated?

I would switch to "vortex" or "Mod Manager 2" if I were you - they give you a lot more control over the installation - especially if there are conflicts in the load order or missing files.

Many mod authors have advised against using the "NMM" (for years)...

...which caused me to switch 3 years ago (to "vortex") - which made it much easier for me to handle mods

and yes - I've experienced this error before - and it had ultimately caused me to pull the "atomic option" - ie uninstall the game - delete all directories and reinstall it from scratch
