mizikage Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Hello everyone ! I am reaching out to you for help. I have Skyrim SE version 1.6x installed with the skse AE version ( it was recommended since my version for the game is technically AE). As modding tool I use NMM 0.65 version. Until now I have used the mod tool and installed around 53 mods, included to this list are the most important mods for bouncing physics, sex interactions such as XPSM skeleton, sex lab framework, CBBE mod, FNIS bodyslide etc, I also use loot for the load order. Everything has been working fine with the modding tool and no issues found. The problem started when I installed, sexlab light, sexlab interactions light (if the name is correct) and more nasty critters. Once I opened the game I got a sexlab error stating that I should proceed with my own risk. After that o disabled the last ones that I added and issue solved. But I still have an issue with amorous adventures since when I ask for the partners touch it does not initiate any interaction. My question is should I delete all of the mods for NMM and install them using another mod tool ? Is there any guide for modding or correct list with installing order ? What do you recommend to me as a rookie as a mod user ? I shall wait for your suggestions. Thank you in advance! Ps the Skyrim game is installed in the default path, since I bought it from steam. Also the game itself and the steam is installed to a different drive.
Just Don't Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Any "<mod> light" is years old and was made as a workaround before SKSE and SkyUI were a thing. Sexlab light is very outdated and shouldn't be used, specially if you already seem to have Sexlab Framework. NMM can work if you use the community maintained version which is more up to date (NMM was officially drop out long ago too). But honestly there are more options out there (better, worse, easier, difficult, a matter of preference and I won't go into that discussion tbh). Both Vortex and Mod Organizer 2 offer more control over mod files, are fairly popular (so you can find written/video guides about pretty much everything you may need) and both are being actively developed (so bugfixes, new features and all the good stuff) are a thing. As for guides there are 3 or 4, most of them use MO2 as mod manager of choice but if you go with Vortex and learn to use it you'll get a very similar result, and you can also keep using NMM and work around its limitations if you ever find them. If you want to switch to a different mod manager or even start from scratch with the same one yes, you should remove any remaining files from your current setup. That way you can avoid issues related to old files getting in the way of your new project. links of interest: Extensive modlist (and equally extensively tested/improved) https://www.loverslab.com/topic/200681-skyrim-ae-for-beginners-v-099-3ba-hdt-smp-hph-seasons/ MNC with some install instructions which you can use for creature related mods and also base SL https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5464-more-nasty-critters-special-edition/ My guide for starting with MO, it takes you from a clean install to a functional SL framework, what you do later is up to you https://www.loverslab.com/topic/136543-v141-mod-organizer-2-other-tools-from-zero-to-hey-sexlab-is-working/ List of compatible/ported mods for SE https://www.loverslab.com/topic/94228-se-compatibility-tracking-jan-16-7652/ Other list by categories and with short descriptions for SE mods https://www.loverslab.com/topic/126227-sexlab-index-se/
mizikage Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 Thanks for the insight @Just Don't ! Very informative and I appreciate your help. I might try to uninstall all of them, clean everything and try with MO2. the other issue that I have is that with nmm everything works fine, no issue the thing is, as previously mentioned, when I ask for a partner her touch on any amorous quest it does not show any interaction and does nothing. On the other hand if I begin the discussion with " excuse me, may I ask you something " and then I request to have sex the animations work. Is sexlab Framework not working properly? I also remember that on the spell list I should have the spells to initiate sexual intercourse one for myself and other for any other target. Is this a clue that it does not work ?

You will only dig a deeper hole for yourself by blindly following a premade mod list without understanding conflict resolution. Use premade lists as hints, understand what you're installing. Deal with conflicts, both in files and in plugin records. If you need any proof of "why" then just look at literally any mod description. See that "make sure this mod is last" in there? Every mod says that. Easiest way to guarantee they work. But all mods can't be last now can they. 1

This entirely depends on the mods you are using to start the animations. If I understand things right the first case is from Amorous Adventures: I'm not familiar with it, but I remember seeing several versions for different frameworks and even a no-scenes ones where things simply fade to black. If something isn't working right you'd have to check that mod. Second case is a line from Sexlab Romance? If so then you're successfully starting a SL animation through dialogue. As for the spells, these also come from other mod (Matchmaker most likely), because the only spells SL has are some debug spells, not intended for regular gameplay. 14 minutes ago, traison said: If you need any proof of "why" then just look at literally any mod description. Yes, the best advice is learn in the process of following instructions and not simply copy and paste stuff. The moment you want to build on top of what was covered in X guide or premade modlist/collection you'll be on your own.
traison Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 If you have 2 mods trying to start SL animations, one works and the other doesn't, then my first guess would be that the one that doesn't work is using an animation filter that returns no animations. Some mods are very picky about this, trying to start a scene with a specific animation from a specific animation pack. It's quite unfortuante that there's no option to ignore filters in SL; something I've been meaning to hack into SL for a long time already, just haven't gotten around to it yet. 1
