Want to upgrade to SSE but CTD on startup

Not too sure why but even after a fresh install, I can't even get the game to start. The only thing I've done is use the downgrader on Nexus mods (to actually be using SE and not AE). Papyrus doesn't seem to help but if anyone knows anything, it would be very appreciated.

Worked fine for me when I did it. You might want to read up on the instructions and stuff to make sure you're doing it right.

Missing master file. Your mod manager should warn you about this, if not then xEdit will do it. Probably LOOT too.

 

Edit: If by game start you mean you can't start a new game, or load a saved one from the main menu then get this and post a log.
