panirwane Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I'm quite curious, because ever since I started modding fallout 4 long ago, I could never go back to the vanilla game and I am quite curious how many people still play this game vanilla

Generally people coming to modding sites will not be playing vanilla. Those who play vanilla will not be coming to said sites, so can't really ask them...
Nuka Cherry Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 When I got fallout 4 I took a load of painkillers, drank some gin, and sat down and did the main quest and nothing else. Then, I deleted the memory, and vowed never again to do that to myself. 2
Miauzi Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Bought Fallout 4 - but didn't start the game until the community's first patch came out one was forewarned by Skyrim So I've never played Fallout 4 unmodded - I don't count the first test start after a complete new installation - which is still "vanilla" - 1

katrina.balanchuk Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 It depdns what you call Vanilla. Do you mean non erotic? Most of the time now I go disbale most the erotic mods and play the main game with some light mods to remove bugs, add some light gameplay features and some light location enrichers but leave main quest intact.
izzyknows Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Vanilla vs Modded... 0.5 hrs vanilla 19755.9 hrs. modded The time line of 210 years after the war.... is what screwed the pooch. That and vanilla so soo ugly and broken/stupid. 2
South8028 Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 many people. But they do not play, but pass once or twice.
Samuraitech Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I bought the game back in 2015 when it first came out. There really were no mods then. Simple mods came in the next few weeks but nothing fancy. I played the game vanilla then and it was nice to have the experience. When mods started arriving you appreciate them more because you know what the vanilla version is like. I can't stand to play the game without mods now. I think I spend more time in the act of modding then actually playing. I also find it hard to play games that don't allow mods or have little in the way of mods. I remember when F4SE extended script came out and the Creation Kit. Then things really took off. People were so excited when the first body physics came out. Was it Cherry Physics? CBP and OCBP much better but had to wait a few years for that. Can't believe it has been 7 years already. Definitely got my money's worth on this game. 1

And very few buildings would still be standing. 2
Und nur sehr wenige Gebäude würden noch stehen. well - that's how it is when you continue a series that started with part 1 - which took place 150 years after the bombing
Vortex Lord Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Nah. I pumped it full of mods shortly after I bought it.
belegost Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) Played about 4-6 hours after it came out, using friend's copy thanks to Steam's "family sharing" feature. Dropped it as soon as I got to that first city, whatever forgettable name it had, were gifted power armour out of the blue and the game dropped all pretense of being an RPG and turned into Call of Duty. Never touched it again until a sale last year when I got everything, including DLCs, for something like the equivalent of 10EUR. Still didn't touch it at all until 6 months later when I did a Nuka Ride playthrough which was the best thing I've played in this franchise since Fallout 1. Once I finished Nuka Ride story, I deleted everything and I'm not planning to come back. Ever. Edited January 26, 2023 by belegost
Battletooth Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Well I started with vanilla, but was so busy and come back latter, when there was some mods. Sometime i finished main quest first time, which is actually only once i ever finished it. new playthrough few years later, which i didn't finish. But now i started again while ago, actually couple time until i found out best mods start and play with, its lot better to play now, game is "finished" no more updates from bethessa(except some new patch coming 2023). unofficial patch fixes most stuff and is finished. And there is lot mods to choose, most are "final" state. And most important i have updated PC, and can play 4k now. back then i had so crap machine. Beth games since morrowind arent meant to play without mods, they add so much. but theres still broken mods and stuff, need to be careful and make lot backuup saves and try out mods before you "accept" them to ongoing game.
polska Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) vanilla fallout 4 today? haha never! but i had alot of fun at the F4 release and finished atleast 80% of the vanilla content. Edited February 25, 2023 by polska
