White Bodies, Dark/Brown Heads

Recommended Posts

Posted

Some npcs have been getting this strange phenomenon where there bodies are white while their heads are dark or redguardish, am not sure what might cause that but i believe it might be a mod conflict and as far as i know i am only having modpocalypse as their replacer and it doesn't seem to be overwritten by anything else.

hope i am wrong and someone point out if something is wrong with my LO and Loot has messed up sth  :-

I use Mod organizer 2.

When you have two different mods that alter the appearance of the same NPC, Brown face can happen when the order of folders on the left don't match the order of the plugins on the right. for example, lets say you have 2 mods that edit lydia. One is "furry lydia" and the other is " pandorable lydia"

[Folders]

Furry lydia (1)

Triple triad in tamriel

The Misadventures of misty skye

Pandorable lydia (2)

[Plugins]

Furry lydia (1)

Triple triad in tamriel

The Misadventures of misty skye

Exploding Dragons SE

Light and shade SE

Pandorable lydia (2)

I've put both lydia mods in bold. It doesn't matter how many folders or plugins come between the two lydia mods as long as the lydia mods are listed in the same order releative to each other Which is "furry, pandorable" in this case.

If you were to mix up the order of the lydia plugins like this

[Plugins]

Pandorable lydia (2)

Furry lydia (1)

Triple triad in tamriel

The Misadventures of misty skye

triple triad in tamriel

Light and shade SE

Then you would get brown faced lydia.

If you open up all your mods together in SSedit, you can look at an npc and see which mod is messing with it last. There could be a rogue mod making changes to an npc and that's the cause of your brown face.

the point is i only have modpocalypse that replaces any npc, and i have the resources loaded before the vanilla npc mod of the same author,
+ how do i check all of them on ssedit cause i am not that good with ssedit and i believe i read somewhere opening all the esps at the same time isn't a good idea hope i am wrong tho.

By default, SSEdit tries to open most everything at once since it will check all the boxes. Maybe there's some upper limit that I'm not aware of but I've always been able to find out the cause of my brown faces this way. (about 800 plugins here)

Also if you have "more informitive console" mod, you can open up the console and then mouse click on an npc to see what mod edits them last. Like if "Skyrim esm" is the last thing to mess with an npc from your Modpocalypse mod then maybe that could be the issue.

I'd try the SSEdit thing first.
