Animations change during first stage with Devious Devices & ZAP (disabled animation override)

I play on Special Edition. The relevant mods I am using that control animation settings would be Sexlab, Sexlab Utility (from OsmelMC), Devious Devices and ZAP 8.

 

- Whenever my character is in a restrictive restraint such as a Yoke or Armbinder, early on in a sex scene (pretty sure I've only noticed during scene 1) the animations will swap and the new list of animations to choose from will be every animation (the most default list, regardless of actors involved or aggressiveness). This means if a male is in the scene, even lesbian animations will appear on this new list.

 

- From what I could tell, the first set of animations that a scene selects is a normal selection that is ideal (if its an aggressive scene, only aggressive anims will play. No lesbian animations with males, if furniture nearby, Sexlab will use them etc).

 

- Animation selection is normal and works fine when my character is not in a Yoke/armbinder.

 

- I have made sure to disable all three options for animation overriding. The one in Devious Device MCM, the one in ZAZ, and the one that is in OsmelMC's "Sexlab Utility" mod (which is apparently supposed to be synergistic with Devious Device's filter)

 

- If I enable those filters, then only one animation is selected for a scene. Attempting to swap animations with Sexlab Tools only shows that single animation in the list. Unsure if this is intended. I enjoy freedom on which animations play. That is why I disabled the animation overrides (in exchange for the loss of immersion).

 

Ideally, I would like the animation filter from either DD or ZAZ to work, but if its intended to only gives you one animation per scene (with no alternatives to pick from should you want to swap animation mid-scene), then just removing it altogether would be next best.

This is how DD 5 works because the filter is, in practice, absolutely unavoidable. That was a change introduced in version 5 by the developer.

The only way I know to try bypass the DD filter is to use a mod like SLAA which changes actors and animations on the fly using its own filter.

If you do not want alternative animations (where DD temporarily removes DD item during sex scene) then you need to leave one of the DD filters on. 

 

But it seems you have only a few DD animations. Billyy's and Funnybusiness SLAL packs have a collection of DD animations. It is not a huge collection but there should be different yoke animations. 

 

Also notice that if your PC is wearing chastity belt and/or ball gag it can also affect which animations are chosen.
