Dragonling Race

Recently added to the Nexus, as far as I can tell, is a mod that allows you to play as a 'humanoid dragon' custom race. It looks fairly simple, just an Argonian with dragon wings attached... but it's that 'wings' part that got my attention.  As far as I know, this is the first playable race outside of the vampire lord to have wings. Body textures don't look half bad either. I hadn't seen it mentioned here yet and wanted to point it out.

Yes. Not only is it flightless, but it has a few other problems. After downloading to test it (just for you, I might add) I discovered that the textures don't play very well with custom bodies, the wings don't appear attached to the character's back, and they don't animate at any point in time.

 

On the custom bodies bit, I noticed huge seams on my character's hips. I was using my own custom body through Bodyslide++, so I can't really speak for other bodies... but, I don't really see seams like those going away even with major adjustments.

While not the best race mod ever, it's a good start. There are several versions, and the author has detailed in their description that they are the result of cross-breeding between dragons and argonians. Good fuel for some more adult mods, I'd say. I'm hoping that a modder on here will take a look at it's meshes and skeleton, and have an easier time doing something similar because of it.

If they can animate those wings it will be a big hit, but I'm not holding my breath there. There seems to be Little intrest from the moders side in making that a reality, despite how cool it would be.

 

Now granted I don't know what would be involved in making it a reality, but it seems to me that sense we alreay have a model with wings it should be possible to adjust the skeleton to match the vanilla skeleton. I dunno, there is much of that sort of things I don't understand.
