Should SLAL Animation count = FNIS Animation count, or are they different?

I'm using the Zaz Animation Pack (which I believe does not need to be registered by SLAL, it can just be installed normally, right?).
FNIS is telling me that I have ~9000 animations. Sex Lab Anim. Loader in the MCM is counting ~ 100 human animations.
Are these numbers different because they describe different things?
Or do I have a tonne of animations that need to be registered in SLAL? [Frankly, I'm not sure how, there's no guide for it anywhere in plain sight]

[This is just a quick query, hence not including load order, papyrus, etc.]

~Please and thank you

You don't need to but if you have ZAZ installed why not register animations. In ZAZ MCM click on Sexlab topic. Sexlab window in ZAZ can take a long time to show, depending on how many animations you have already registered.

FNIS animation count is not 1:1 with Sexlab count. Each animation has a number of stages. Sexlab only counts complete animations.

Be careful using too many animations. XXL version of FNIS is supposed to be able to register beyond 100% but it can sometimes cause problems.

Anyway, animations are of varying quality so pick the ones you prefer. You can also use Sexlab Toggle Animation MCM option to disable the animations you don't like. Before quitting existing game and starting new game, remember to export Sexlab profile. Once you start new game, you can then import profile and animations you disabled remain disabled. Same goes for any alignment adjustments you have made to each animation.
