Will someone please create a written tutorial for installing models, textures, poses, rooms, clothing etc and pin it so that the information is all in one place. For 7.5 and VX both.

It would be a great help to new players to have a written set of instructions for installing various mods for the program.  With all the different file formats, it is very confusing as to where to  install them.

I have no clue how to install new models in either version.  As a very early ThriXXX customer I would download a file from Gamerotica and there was an installation program to do the work for you. No such tool exists for Klub 17 as far as I can tell.

A tutorial stating where each file extension should go would be very helpful.

I know that .txx files go in Addons Folder in VX but 7.5 has no addon folder.

I've been able to install the megapack poses to 7.5 in the community/poses folder but they crash VX when I put them in the poses folder as directed.(not community) Is that normal?

I downloaded a face replacement for a particular model. The instructions said to install it and then clone it.  But I have no clue what he/she was referring to or where to install it.  I know how to clone a model ingame but not familiar with face replacements.

I'm pretty sure English wasn't their first language so that might explain the confusion.

I'm pretty much an expert with both the older pose editor and sequencer so if anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them., although I'm not familiar with some of the newer features on the pose editor. There is a lot more control of various body parts now but it all seems to work the same.

"Addons" go in the "Addons" folder.

Texture mods go in the "Mods" folder.

Tutorial over.

Just kidding, though it really IS almost that simple.

"Mods":

"Addons" add new objects to TK17 not already part of the base program. This can include: new hairstyles, toys, clothing (including hats & shoes), voices/SFX, and Rooms. It can also include Head & Body mods to reshape your models.

The "Mod\Activemod\" folder is for textures applied to those objects (both stock and new) to give them a new look. This can include: clothing, rooms, skin, even hair & eyes. Same shape; different look.

Installing new models is both simple & tricky. The built-in model "import/export" feature doesn't work very well, so don't use it.

The Recommended method for installing downloaded models:

1) In TK17, click "New Scene" to get to the main menu.

2) Click "Choose SexMate" next to the second model (actually, any model is okay, but 1-actor poses only use "SexMate".)

3) Select a model of the same gender as the model you wish to install (Male/Female/Shemale/Hentai) and Clone it (button below profile.) Just below the model name, you will see "Clone No. ####" (where #### is a four digit number.) Click OK to select that model.

4) Quit TK17.

5) Back in Windows, locate TK17's "Save\Models\" folder. Locate "Model####" (where #### is the number of your cloned model.)

6) Open the archive containing your downloaded model.

7) Copy everything EXCEPT "Base.id" from your downloaded model folder to your cloned model folder.

That's it. When you restart TK17, your new model will be installed and selected as "SexMate" (you can assign your new model to any other actor, but only one copy at a time.)

It should be noted that in VX forward there are only two places most mods should end up: either in Addons or Mod/ActiveMod. The easiest way to know which is which is when you open a folder or a zip file containing a folder, if it has subfolders named "Images", "Scenes" and "Scripts" , then it belongs in your Addons folder. If you see only a folder full of images (.png or .jp2) and sometimes .txf files, then it goes in your Mod/ActiveMod folder. Note that ActiveMods can be either a modification of an existing game asset, in which case there will be no accompanying Addon; or a modification of another mod from your your Addons folder. ActiveMods are never a stand-alone mod.

In version 7.5 it was necessary to merge Addons into your Archives folder. This was a risky process, which is why there is now an Addons folder in VX. You DO NOT want to change anything in the VX Archives, because VX has file protection (basically, it's just checking the date stamp, but if they're not all correct then none of your addons will load).

Hook (all versions) have additional files (level_definition.txt, *_pass, *_normal, *_spec, etc..), which usually (not always, though I've yet to see an example) go in the ActiveMod folder, along with their base textures.

-Room textures and generaly textures folders go to --> mod\activemod folder

-Poses go to -->community\poseedit folder

-Dont put the folder inside poseedit folder, just the poses!

-PS: ΠΑΟΚ?

Side note here: the "community\poseedit\" folder should only be used for importing poses. Don't use it long term. It can read misnamed poses that otherwise might not work or conflict with existing poses. Attempting to edit a Community pose will save a "Local" copy, resulting in two copies of every pose (old/new). The folder should otherwise always be kept empty.

Use "TKX_Utils" to quickly/easy Move "Community Poses" to "Local".

If you already have a model with the same number as the model you downloaded, you CAN NOT simply renumber the model folder. Follow this trick:

1) Start TK17 and go to the Model selection menu.

2) (click "Choose SexMate") Clone any model of the same gender (don't clone a Hentai model unless you downloaded a Hentai model.) DON'T click OK.

3) Just beneath the model name, you'll see "Clone No." followed by a 4 digit number.

4) Close TK17 and locate your Save\Models\" folder. Locate "Model####" (where #### is the clone number.)

5) Open your downloaded model folder.

6) Copy/Overwrite everything EXCEPT the "Base.id" file to the clone folder.

When you go back to TK17, your downloaded model will have replaced the clone. This annoying long process is necessary b/c the Model Export feature is buggy. :(

many thanks!!

some models have also except the file and a txx content....where do i have to put that???

TXX files are old TK17 v7.5 addons. In VX, simply place the txx in the "Addons" folder.

Addons add new 3D objects (clothing, rooms, hair, etc) to TK17.

I cant find the locals folder anywhere, i use VX.
