Whip marks not going away! Argh!!

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hey there,

I think I got my Sktrin to work except she got whipped for being naked in Riften. Unfortunately, the whip marks won't go away. I thought it had to do with the Nakwiñed Dungeon mod, but i disabled and after reloading,  they still are showing.

Can anyone help?

I appreciate the help in advance.  I realize I tend to post only have problems, but I don't know how to make mods.lol

Whip marks are usually "decals".  Decal duration is controlled by the fDecalLifetime value in Skyrim.ini under [Display].  If you just want them to go away immediately, equipping body clothing and then removing it should do that.

Well putting clothes on didn't work, and I checked the Skyrim.ini and that line of code wasn't there.

Not sure what to do now.

If it wasn't there, add it. Not all ini settings are present in the default inis as far as I know. Also look into SkyrimCustom.ini (google it) and also google how your mod manager handles ini files. MO2 for instance has its own system for this.

If adding/removing clothes didnt work then they are probably not decals, some mods (SD+ and Naked defeat as i recall) use overlays instead of decals so you could try removing by going into slavetats or by doing showracemenu on the console

Never heard of Nakwiñed Dungeon mod so can't say for sure what they are using

On the ini setting, you only need to add fDecalLifetime if you want a different value to the default, so if you wanted a decal to last 10 minutes as an example you'd add the line with value 600 (ini settings are usually in seconds i believe)

I know this is old, but a correct answer helps.  Go into racemenu body and replace the whipmarks with 'default" or turn the colors to zero.

Another option is to save the character as a preset in racemenu.  Go into the json for the preset.  Find the body section and either delete everything in it or just the whip marks line.  Save the file, making the sure the syntax of the xml is correct (watch the commas at the ends).  Load the preset while in game and voila.

This only works as long as you don't still have the mod that puts the overlay back. A solution if the mod has been uninstalled or fixed, a workaround if nothing else has changed.
