Endless bleedout bug (for real!)

Hello guys,

I know this is a common problem but I tried to solve this for days with little or no results.

Basically my characters cannot die, and enters into an endless bleedout state.  Its driving me crazy because I cannot apparently find which mod is the culprit, nor any solution found on the internet works. A day ago I was cheering because I tought I had solved it and I tought the culprit was the BaboDialogue Mod, since there is an option in the MCM to remove invincibility for the player. And It worked! for like 20 mins, then I realized the bug was there, again, and the option in the MCM never worked again. 

 

Premises: 

- I never installed nor used Death alternative on this playthrough.

- I Tried TIM, TGM, RecycleActor and SetEssential commands. Didn't work.

- I tried to see if the bug was present on other saves or new games, and apparently is present only in my current playthrough. I also add that is a pretty fresh playthrought, with my character being only level 8. 

 

Please help, I do not want to start a new game, again

That's happened to me every time I used SL kidnapped.  I didn't see that in your LO though...might have missed it.

 

Have you tried just disabling Defeat?

I never installed SL kidnapped on this playthrough, and yep, I tried disabling Defeat multiple times, no results at all. I'm getting really frustrated ☹️

I suppose what I'd start with myself is searching for calls to SetProtected and SetEssential in all *.psc files. Notepad++ can do this.

If you just want to fully bleed out and die, I don't know

 

But if you simply want to release the player from that state, this might have some value. I see you have Defeat. Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but sometimes, when I get 'placed in holding' for a defeat scene, for whatever reason, it fails to progress, leaving my player bound in whatever defeat state I was in (bleedout, stunned, etc), with no recourse via "normal" means (eg: waiting).

 

Defeat has a hotkey for situations like this. I think it's zero (0) by default.

With notepad++ its a 3 minute job. Point it at the directory that contains all your mods. Set it to include sub-directories, and the filter to *.psc.

 

As for SetProtected, not that I know of.

Thanks but I do not think defeat is the problem, and yes I actually want to die ahah, without bleedout

_sdmes_sex_host.psc:90 is the only line that calls SetProtected, the other is commented out and the rest disable the essential flag. So SD could be your issue. Also there doesn't appeat to be a call to SetProtected(false), so that's quite suspicious. It depends on what that script is supposed to do obviously.

 

What now? Well, here's something:

1. I assume you've gone through the SD MCM disabling anything suspicious.
2. You could add a Debug.Notification call before _sdmes_sex_host.psc:90 to make sure this is the source of your problem.
3. You could comment out _sdmes_sex_host.psc:90.
4. You could open SD in xEdit and find the record that uses _sdmes_sex_host.pex. If its a spell (MGEF) for instance, find (in the code) where SD is using it and disable it.
5. It could still be from another script. One that you do not have the source for, or one that has its sources within a BSA/BS2.
