SnekRawor Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Its been a while Ive done this and I forgot how to do it. Cant find it on net. I replaced the files but it doesnt work. This is the thing that pops up.
Varithina Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 What that is telling you is that the dll for the various mods listed have not been updated for the new version of skse, you will need to either carry on and things may be a bit wonky or even simply not work or wait till those mods are updated to the new skse.
SnekRawor Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 the problem with that is some of the mods are not updated since like 2 years. And it was fine before skyrim got updated. I managed to do it before, use 2 years old mod on aniversary edition but I dont remember how I did it. Weird thing is it even says skse is not updated. I just updated it. That warning should not be there. This means something gone wrong.
The Mad Lad Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Search around those mod pages. Most of the time, there's always someone that updates.
anjenthedog Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) Address Library should be as easy as installing the update. If in Vortex, it should allow you to update from the vortex console and auto-replace the old version. In MO2 idk. If in Vortex, and if the old version doesn't get disabled and put into a revision chain with the new one, (sometimes happens due to a slight change in mod name that seems to screw with Vortex's mod versioning scheme) disable it manually after handling any contention during deployment of the new one, (let the new version overwrite it) so the deployment can complete, then once you've disabled the old version, just deploy once more for good measure. SKSE is a little more complex, since the version has to be one suitable for your specific Skyrim version, and ideally it's installed manually, (rather, for instance, than the steam/vortex auto install), by direct file replacement via the instructions offered by https://skse.silverlock.org/ in the directions included in the associated archive file. Basically, the instructions say to drop three files into the main Skyrim folder, and the rest get dropped into /Data/Scripts/. See the file for the specifics. FWIW, I usually make a backup folder and methodically add all the entries it will overwrite to that folder, prior to updating SKSE, "just in case" I have to revert to the old version for any reason. SnekRawor Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) I tried to update one fo the mods. The line about it didnt dissapear. This is not about mods. Its about something else Im on vortex btw Edited September 23, 2022 by SnekRawor
traison Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) Did you just click some magical "update" button, or did you actually check if the updated version was compatible with your game version? As far as I'm concerned you got 2 options in the world of auto-updates. You either block them and take responsibility yourself, or you let big brother manage things and deal with the damage. This is a cynical and probably unpopular opinion, especially seeing how easily people swallowed the windows 10 pill. /rant I'd say your easiest option is to grab a downgrader and block updates on steam for a few weeks. Make a note of the incompatible mods mentioned there, and check in to see if they've received a patch every couple of days. Once it's all green and good to go, unblock updates and make the switch. Edit: If you're feeling brave, some mods may come with source code. The version check is implemented in one of the SKSE initializer functions, you could try stabbing the version number in there to see if the mod works as-is or actually requires a patch. I suppose it would be possible to hex edit these as well but that would require more black magic. Edited September 23, 2022 by traison
SnekRawor Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 I didnt click update button, it was already updated. I run it on auto. I just reilazed this stuff happened 4 days ago. Bad time to update automaticly I guess. I will wait for things to workout itself.
