General Issues With Skyrim Clean Install

First, let me say I appreciate all the hard work and long hours that went into creating Sexlab.

I had been using SL 1.11 with success.  I like the Random Sex mod, Lovers Comfort and Defeat.  Updating from one version to the next was problematic before so I decided to do a clean install and add in the 1.14 version.

After adding all mods, without anything excessive, I started the game and quickly discovered it to be buggy.  For instance, no dialogues appeared for any of the SL mods I had installed, except for "Hey Stud," from Random Sex.  However, when animations attempted to start nothing happens except the male will undress and we both just stand there.  Other issues include npcs and me getting stuck in endless loops.

These things did not happen in the previous version; however, I did have issues with Random Sex in that my PC was ignored or sex was hard to initiate between my PC and NPC regardless of who approached who.  So, I suspect that this may have something to do with Random Sex not being compatible with 1.14.  Just hoping someone can shed a little light.  I am currently re-installing Skyrim to start again, and I would like to have Random Sex and that will determine which version of Sexlab I use.

Making a "clean save" is very hard. It's more voodoo then science.

How I do it:

 - make a backup (shit happens)

 - if mod has MCM option like 'shut me down' or 'clean up', then use it

 - wait a couple of minutes "real time"

 - ingame travel somewhere far away. Outside of current area

 - hit "wait" ingame

 - now save. It should be "new" save, not overide existing one. And deffo not quick save.

 - exit Skyrim

 - deactivate mods that you want to upgrade. If this SexLab framework, then SexLab and all SexLab dependant mods.

 - start Skyrim

 - load that new save

 - make another new save

 - exit Skyrim

 - start Skyrim and load save

 - exit Skyrim

 - check script log. There should not be any funky references to those disabled mods.

 - only if script log is also "clean", upgrade mod

 - if script log is not clean then your save is also not so clean. In this case use one of save game cleaners. If that doesn't work maybe ask on forums.

 - activate mod. If its SexLab framework then *only* SexLab

 - make a new save (yes, another one)

 - exit Skyrim

 - start Skyrim

 - load that new save (third or forth one)

 - if at any point you get CTD when you load save, try again. Skyrim does that sometimes. If you get CTD on third try, you have a problem.

 - if mod was SexLab framework, activate other SexLab dependant mods

 - repeat save/exit/start/check log part

This procedure is generic. I use it for any given mod. It is not fast or short. But it usualy works.
