Aleksi Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 is there a way to get past the texture glitch that gives your char patchwork skin w a black left shoulder and one huge nip on the lower left ribcage? *stock image from a REDDIT post but an example of what I am dealing w/*
Erebea Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 You've not installed the mod correctly, or it's being overwritten. The body you've installed isn't compatible with the textures.
Aleksi Posted August 7, 2022 Author Posted August 7, 2022 (edited) See, that's the weird part; it WAS working as designed/desired, even made an outlandish preset for it, but I logged out and back in... and this is what greeted me. I'll look into overwrites tho... actually going through my whole LO anyway as I write this Edited August 7, 2022 by Aleksi
Erebea Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 When you closed and the game and restarted, did you change the order of your mods, or added anything new? When it was working, was this before or after you made the preset? It wouldn't hurt to post your load order in a spoiler.

Aleksi Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 I'll give it another go as I liked the detail options.
Aleksi Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 same shit, different lo... Preview 8_8_2022 12_15_03 PM.jxr
Erebea Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) That is the bodyslide preview, which shows a mismatch between the mesh and textures. Does any other preset show the same mismatch? How are you installing mods? If you are using a mod manager, does it mention any issues or conflicts? Edited August 8, 2022 by Erebea
Aleksi Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 but looks the same in game. As to installing; Vortex and no, no mention of conflicts etc. As stated earlier, the weird part is it worked "right outa the box" (including the lack of texture issues in the BS preview) but I exited game, went back in and... yeah.
Erebea Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Hmm, I'm at a loss of what exactly the issue is. As a last ditch attempt I'd reinstall janebod, rebuild the body with a janebod preset of your choice and see if that helps at all. If everything shows okay in bodyslide, then it should be okay in game, but check anyway just to be sure. Out of curosity, which janebod mod did you install?
Aleksi Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8288 and; https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/32442 sorry for the banner, tried to copy/paste the title and it, well, ... yeah
Erebea Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Looking at JaneBod Extended, it has bodyslide files that are named cbbe-cbp. I don't know if they are only for cbbe, but if you've built the body using that, it could explain the missmatch. Try reinstalled both mods again, without using the bodyslide from JaneBod Extended.
Aleksi Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 worth a shot. Thank you. 54 yo and feel like a 14 yo noob when stuff like this happens
Erebea Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) If that didn't work I only have two more suggestions, firstly start disabling mods in batches of ten and see if that changes anything. You can re-enable the previous ten, when disabling another ten. Keep in mind that some mods require other mods, so disable them together otherwise the game will ctd on the main menu. It'll take some time but I feel it is the better option. By disabling mods in batches of ten, you should hopefully catch which mod is possibly causing the issue, so once you've got the issue down to ten mods, start disabling them one by one until the issue is resolved. Then try and troubleshoot the mod, by either changing your load order or just removing the mod completely. Otherwise, you could simply remove all the mods you've installed and start from scratch. Then install only janebod (and it's requirements) and an alternate start mod, and check that it works. Then add a few mods at a time, ensuring nothing causes issues with janebod each time. A bit extreme, and I still think the first option is better - but if that is what it takes. Edited August 9, 2022 by Erebea
Aleksi Posted August 9, 2022 Author Posted August 9, 2022 patially relevant: how much of a conflict (mentioned or not by one's MO) is there between CBBE and JB? I have been running CBBE for years now if only because of clothing and armor options that in many cases simply aren't available for JB or FG. Just wondering that if the first point is relevant, how many clothing/armor options are gonna go Poof.
Aleksi Posted August 9, 2022 Author Posted August 9, 2022 as to reinstalling all mods... I have done that so many times over the last 6 months I am developing a phobia LOL. Partially because my LO is at present, 717. And that is w no merging. Still haven't figured out how to make that work even w Vortexs' guides.
Erebea Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) Cbbe and Janebod totally conflict as the files from each are named the same. You can use cbbe armour/clothes on janebod, just it won't match the shape of janebod. You might see some strangeness if it doesn't cover the whole body. 717 mods is quite a few, so that will take a while if you deactivate mods ten at a time! If you could post your load order maybe I or someone else will spot something. Edited August 9, 2022 by Erebea
Aleksi Posted August 9, 2022 Author Posted August 9, 2022 so... guess I have to rebuild my BS folder sans CBBE. Bit of a Pain but not as much as reinstalling 700+ mods Thanks again for your patience, experience and willingness to help
Erebea Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) No problem, and good luck! Edited August 9, 2022 by Erebea 1
