Wicked Whims V170i : Patreon Version?

I have just downloaded Turbo's latest W.W. V170i...in the update changes section, he describes how he is now unhappy with teens being involved in sexual activity, due to the High School Years expansion pack:

 

Due to the recontextualization of teen Sims in the game, making them prepubescent and physically immature, I'm no longer comfortable allowing them to retain sexual functionalities. This is a pretty major change, but it has to be done. You can bring back the old behavior with external mods, but WickedWhims will not officially support it.

 

Alarm bells went off in my head after reading it. Why the 'sudden' change of heart? After all this time? Has EA got to him? Is he on the EA payroll? Obviously, I don't believe that, but I got a bit worried for sure.

So I went into my game...a new game I had to create because patch day destroyed my long running legacy playthrough, and, lo and behold, incest has also been taken out of the game.

 

So, effectively, Wicked Whims V170i is a Patreon version. I am disappointed. I was absolutely cool with teens being reclassified as children, but to also take out incest, which is legal in some societies and groups, and is also a huge focus for fantasy playthroughs is a step to far for me personally.

 

Part of me thinks that Turbodriver has been forced into this change, because it's all to sudden to be real!

Just get the Inappropriate Unlock.  Also remember that you'll need to give Teens the Post-Puberty trait.  You can choose "Give all sims Wicked traits" and select teens from the next menu.  You DON'T need to go through all the sims and select all the teens in the next step, all teens ARE selected even if their portrait isn't highlighted green.  You may have to do this again every so often as new sims age up.

I haven't heard of the 'Inappropriate Unlock'. Who makes it and is it safe to use? I have spent the last three days trying to fix my game, so I don't want to mess it up again.

It is safe everyone is using it after the latest bs update.

Thank you Drago_28. I don't know about you, but I'm getting echoes of Bethesda targeting the modding community around Skyrim and Fallout 4. Is EA doing something similar? Or are they trying to break the game, patch by patch, so as players move onto Sims 5!?

I have a nagging issue with why Turbodriver has done this. None of this makes any sense...unless he has been 'leaned on' by the corporate heavies.

There's just something that doesn't add up in my head.

Patreon pre-release WW follows a strict interpretation of Patreon rules.

 

But if you download the unlock, you can fix the Patreon version, sort of. Now the unlock is required even for the public version.

<wink-wink> since the unlock I'm using works, and it's simply a xml defining two traits, one wonders what magic there is that it "unlocks" features that aren't there </wink-wink>

Meh. It's not so bad. My goals of having my sim student boink the principle and his teacher to pass his classes aren't going to work now. That's not something I'd ever do in real life, btw. In real life I taught physics labs as a TA, and I got offers. Two girls were so insistent that I sent them to the professor. He was kinda... amused. And my own QM professors gave me a D grade in QM, when I had the highest grade in the class going into the final because I didn't go to her house for "special tutoring". The guys in the department all did. I thought they were joking.

 

I guess we heard it was coming from EA in that thread that got locked about EA's interpretation of what's allowed and what's not. That thread quoted EA as saying teen sex was okay as long as they were clearly 18 or 19. IMHO post puberty doesn't quite cut it e.g. mom had her first kid when she was just 16, clearly post puberty and clearly not 18. And clearly statutory rape at the time. Not sure why grandpa didn't kill the father or at least insist on a shotgun wedding, it's the kind of thing grandpa did and was done in the 1930s.

 

Shotgun weddings? Hey! I just got an idea for a new mod! Country Living Weddings! Or is it still too soon?

TD choose to implement the somewhat unprecise "obscene" part of EA rules, but they didn't still comply with the free mode part.

I don't think TD looks for hurting the users base. Since the WW pedo modification two years ago, they entered a war against anything underage.

I cannot say if they are genuine or if it's a pratical move (to comply with EA and Patreon rules or hurting DD) but it's  somewhat consistant with their stance.

Except that TD, to be 100% consistant with their no underage graphical sex rules, should ban "Inapropriate Unlock".

not saying TD is looking to hurt the players. I am saying, is that he is willing to make a change that hurts the players. but is not willing to make a change that hurts himself. I dont think this hurts DD at all. actually this WW change really helps DD. DD already has all of the functionality of WW, and more. The only reason i havent swapped to DD, is because i dont actually play the sims. I just use CAS. therefore i use mccc which doesnt work with DD.

The latest Patreon version that Turbo Driver has is not v170i, that's been released publicly.  The version Turbo currently has locked behind a paywall is 172.8.

Do so many people realize the sims aren't real? This is a game not real life stop trying to protect the sims like real humans are being hurt. People really need to learn to separate reality from video games.

Even if sims aren't real person, picturing, even by drawing, underage sex activity could bring bad mojo on you depending on the law of your country. And playing with a graphical mod enabling sex between underage character could be illegal too.

 

But they key word is "picturing". Teen sims aren't pictured as underage character. So it's a gray area.

Up until the 'High School Years' expansion, no-one, including TD questioned the morality of the uncensored version of WW. High School Years is an absolutely awful expansion and I will never buy it, but sex and teens go together like crackers and cheese...I remember my teenage years, my mind was an inferno of fantasy and sexual possibility.

 

Why the release of one [absolutely rubbish] pack, suddenly changed Turbodriver's moral compass after all these years, is the real conundrum in all of this!

 

Actually the patch that was released before this pack has caused me [and many others], nothing but grief! It broke my 4 year old savegame and I had to start from scratch. With every expansion and every game patch, stuff gets broken...broken and never fixed. EA are slowly breaking this game, whilst distracting us with even more content. The game is a 'cash grab' at this point. I've bought only 2 out of the last 6 packs...'Werewolves' being my last. I will buy no more.

I play in offline mode, no auto-updates of the game itself, and am still running my copy of WW 170h.  Not interested in broadway CATS (werewolves) or eco living, high school, or any of that crap. The last package I bought was the witches and magick one.  I just want to be left alone to play out my "other life" existence. Quit breaking stuff, EA. As long as my game loads and plays without updating it, I won't be connecting. I can live without the gallery.
