Kamen Rider Kuuga
All I really want is a version of Cataclysm that works on Windows 7, since my copy hates the very concept of working on a newer PC, but it seems they may not be touching that game. Honestly, for a 1999 game, Homeworld 1 still looks pretty good, and Homeworld 2, almost 10 years later, is still gorgeous looking, so what do I need HD versions for? Just give me a goddamned Homeworld 3 already instead of this HD remake nonsense, especially since HW1 and 2 both work flawlessly, atleast for me, on a modern system. Link to comment
Adam Jensen
I myself prefer playing classics in their original graphics, sends me straight into nostalgia town. Recently I bought FF7 on Steam and while some would argue that the graphics are outdated, I still love that game. Link to comment
Kamen Rider Kuuga
If they're at a decent price I'll buy them, since they come with the original, unchanged games as well. So I can have them as a back up for my disc based copies... which I would hope I would never have to use, since those discs are treated with such care that diamonds would be jealous. As for 7, I bought the PC version for one reason; modding the shit out of it. Even in 1997 the models were outdated, and the backgrounds, while nice then, are a horrible mass of pixels now. if I'm going to play an unmodded version of 7, it'll be my PS1 version on an old CRT TV. That's one of the nice things about games that take place in space. Not only do you not have to worry about rendering ground, thus freeing up resources for other objects, but you can throw in all kinds of really cool ship designs that don't have to cater to aerodynamics. You can do a lot more with the same processing power. But yes, I love the Homeworld series so much. It's one of the reasons why I'm such a big fan of Relic. (That and the Dawn of War series.) Kamen Rider Kuuga
Even if Duke Nukem Forever came with a free blow job, people would have still shat on the game because it could never have lived up to what people thought a game with a dev cycle that long should have been. All I can say is that they made Opposing Force and Blue Shift, two games I found superior to the original Half-Life; if they can do the same with Homeworld, I will be pleased. Link to comment
Astaroth-Lite
Homeworld 3 by gearbox? No thank you. Duke, Alien. Fail. Not trying to be "that person", but both those examples are games that have been through some kind of development hell and are mostly made by another company and either 'finished up' by or overseen by Gearbox. Gearbox themselves have done some good work. But that said I still would have preferred it if the Homeworld license had went to Sega so that it could be back with Relic. I mean, I assume that's why THQ bought it from Sierra. Link to comment

I'm aware of that - but as I adore OF, gearbox haven't done anything solid froml that time. You can say borderlans 1/2, it may be commercial success but it is far from "fantastic" game. Our home is our world, our life.... I wonder what's wrong with your copy of Cataclysm. That and Homeworld are the first games aside from Quake/2 that I install when i get a new PC. Works fine on my pc with Win 7. On a simple level, I despise Gearbox (won't go into it). It makes me sad they own Homeworld. What would be cool is if they just have the classics support 1080p+ resolutions. And NOT touch the s/f/x and music in any way. Link to comment
formel
Reaky strange that they bought the licence for it as they have absolutly no history with strategy games. I fear it will become such a cheap "HD"-remeake as for Age of Empires II was released. Link to comment
