Oblivion Will Not Load Up.

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. Just the other day I got Oblivion and just got to town today to install/update/mod it out. People here were gracious to set me on the right path for mods and I thank them greatly for it but now I seem to have run into a problem. I use the CD game version not the Steam Client. I followed the OBSe instructions down to a tea and whenever I load up the game the screen goes black as if the game was loading then it crashes back to the desktop shortly after. Can anyone help me out?

You have been most helpful. I tried many things but none seem to work. I guess I'll play it safe and reinstall the game. Hopefully the mods wont have to be reinstalled otherwise its back to square one. :( Thanks again for the information.

Sounds like a mod depends on another one that you haven't installed; patch Oblivion, check all requirements and re-install (Oblivion or the mod) if you are in doubt.

Final edit. I am sorry everyone. After much work and effort and crossed fingers, the game will work but nexus mod will not work with it for one reason or another. I am going to call it quits for now and just play the game mod free. I'll try these mod configurations another day when my patience is not so short. Been at this all night and am pretty tired. :( I'll make sure that all the help people have given me this evening will not go to waste. Ill save these forums to make sure I can quick reference the information given to me in the future. Thank you all who helped me out. :)

Holy crap. Now Nexus Mod Manager is giving me the reach around. Saying I have to move it to another location in order for it to work. >.>

HAHAAAA I'm sorry that's funny! :P   Nexus giving the reach around...priceless.  Anyway did you get it up and running?  Number one rule in my opinion is double check that the same mods you've installed are ticked off in the file settings from the Oblivion launcher.
