SSE SoS Persistent Vanilla Loincloth (pls help)

So, once again I'm modding Skyrim and once again I'm having problems with SoS. The issue I'm having is this: whenever a male character removes his armor he is still wearing the vanilla loincloth. Weirdly though, I can still see the schlong with working physics underneath (I have the SMP version.)

I've scoured google and found only one post where someone appears to be having the same issue which remained unresolved. I have tried everything I can think to try and nothing has worked so far. I've reinstalled both SoS and XPMSSE more times than I can remember, I've changed the load order (however haven't ruled out load order as the cause,) I even tried deleting the underwear meshes/ textures from SoS as well as Rustic Clothing as I believe that mod replaces the loincloth texture but so far nothing has worked.

I'd really love some help with this so if anybody is able to offer any I would be very grateful.

Well, as far as i can tell, having the loincloth is the problem, i assume?

If you undress, there shouldn't be any loincloth.

Have you tried installing a 'nudemod' that removes the loincloth completely?

Well, the problem is that it's still there when I undress.

I actually just installed HIMBO (SoS version) and when I relaunched the game the problem persisted. I remembered that I didn't run bodyslide after installing HIMBO, so I ran it and found that when I clicked preview the texture for the loincloth was actually on my character (no loincloth meshes, just the texture kinda like underpants.) Maybe someone with a bit more modding know-how than me can infer something from that?

That sounds like you have the Skin Texture for avoid nudity, CBBE has an optional texture called Undies, not sure if it also apply on males. I think thats the case since you said it's apparently on your character Skin.

So, after running bodyslide and relaunching the game the mesh seemed to be gone but there was still that underwear texture left over. I then disabled my skin texture (SkySight) and it seemed to fix the problem. Now I'm running Vitruvia with high poly meshes and it's going great.

I had a similar issue but with SOS -light.  I believe I've narrowed it down to Men of Winter causing my problem.  I added a patch in SSEEdit for one of the offending characters which simply replaced their weight with the same number.  I have no idea why it worked, but it did.  I don't feel like doing this for every Men of Winter character, so I'll likely just delete MoW.

I have been having this same issue and I just realized it's only been since I switched from Tempered Skins to Skysight. SMH!

I had to switch back to tempered skins but... Whoever made these texture mods really has no idea about realistic male body hair growth patterns.  Nobody has hair just completely covering their pecs that suddenly stops at their edges, and a pipe-straight happy trail all the way from the sternum down, with nothing else on the sides... like maybe if you're a bear and then you groom down to that.. But naturally occurring?  Please ask a male to take their shirt off for you.

For reference, mine looks like this (texture artists, take note):

        ..__..
       //    \\

Hope this helps.
