I've been stuck on this for days. Im trying to use custom Facetint and Facegendata on a custom NPC by generating facedata in Creation Kit then finding and replacing the files with my own custom ones. It works on one NPC but not another, and I have no idea why. Please help I'm ripping my hair out trying to figure this out.

Some followers use vanilla head parts(NordHair20) and other followers use custom head parts(aaa_Hair1)

might be problem?

Can you name follower that works and doesnt work?

What exactly isn't working? Do you get a dark face bug or does the NPC not change at all or what?

I made a custom Lykaios NPC from scratch then generated facegen data in Creation Kit. My goal is to edit the .Nif and Facetint and replace the files that Creation Kit generated like every tutorial says to do when making a custom follower.
But when I load into skyrim neither has changed. The file paths are correct and everything it's just that nothing happens :T

NPC must be freshly created. If you have "seen" that NPC before and made a save file, info about that NPC is now inside save file.

Opening console and clicking on npc then typing disable and then typing enable should suffice

Try to run Cathedral Assets Optimizer on the follower. Works for me on several races after I created new head parts with CK. Easiest is if you share your file with someone. There are so many little things that can go wrong when creating new races. Are all your head parts connected to your race, are they listed under the race form in ck?

Tried both, I disabled and then enabled them with no change. Then I tried starting a new game and still no change to the face textures or anything when I spawn the NPC in.
