Nope, you need defence which is engineering. Trust me it's best to have defence over damage.

 

You have too remember that the engineering version can do saucer separation as well which will give you the extra damage.

You can't see me as you are in the wrong instance. If you look in the minimap area  you will see it says Earth Spacedock and then a number. What is the number?

You want as many plasma weapons as they do a debuff over time.

 

Depends on how many consoles you can use and how many weapons slots you have.
