fuckme346912 Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I noticed while playing that Sexbound does not have any sprites for moving while pregnant. I would like to change that, but am clueless when it comes to coding. Any tips? I tried skimming through the frames and animation files to see what they did but have no clue what I'm looking for.
almondmommymilkers Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I am good at coding but I've honestly never messed with Starbound's API. I also dunno if sexbound is open source or where its codebase is. Guess I could take a look at some point, idk.
red3dred Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 All of Sexbound's code is available within Sexbound, there's no secret there. You can either download the unpacked version of the mod, or use a unpacker tool to look into pretty much any mod. This is limitation with Starbound itself thus far. Status effects can't change what you wear, or your character's appearance easily, the closest Vanilla equivalent is the "naked" status effect applied by beds for whatever reason. The closest non-vanilla sembleance of that feature would be a mixture of Zancuno's Armor Adapt Mod, which would allow you to set a top/chest appearance for clothing when the Sexbound pregnant status effect is applied, likely a graphic similar to the abandoned mod Familial Immersion. 6 hours ago, thesinofheart said: not a clue, i was also recently interested. so i tried one of those old batch tutorials. seems fun. but eh. i ended up deciding to learn pyhton someday but not sure how to start ha While Starbound is not made in Python and not in any way related, here are some helpful links. 20 minutes ago, almondmommymilkers said: I am good at coding but I've honestly never messed with Starbound's API. Touched on that above a bit, but Sexbound USED to have a GitHub page and all, but Locuturus dunked it after a while, as with many other sorts of things related to the project. For now, your best documentation is the mod itself, as mentioned above, available as a ZIP, or this compilation of tutorials which are mostly up-to-date with a few exceptions.
fuckme346912 Posted May 21, 2022 Author Posted May 21, 2022 Thanks. Guess I was in over my head for this
Ant Cant Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 If I were to do this, I would set an extra sprite sheet to display the pregnant belly over the standard sprites. It might look ok over some armors if you're lucky, but otherwise you would have to draw for each and every armor.
fuckme346912 Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 The problem is the coding. I have no idea what I'm looking at most of the time

If you are looking at another coder's work, that isn't documented, that isn't commented, or is simply a confusing web of calls this, calls that, that's programming. The struggle is at first, learning the language, once you grasp the syntax, the main issue is working based off someone else's work. Locuturus did comment most of the scripts, even if vaguely, to try and grasp what is what, but even then, the whole API runs in a network of calls, promises and implied data, that indeed, it's completely understandable if you get lost in it. Hell i've been working with it every now and then for nearly 2 years now, and i still can't grasp where everything happens.
fuckme346912 Posted May 26, 2022 Author Posted May 26, 2022 I see. What you're trying to say is that coding is hell.
