solved One certain piece of armour unequips automatically when I equip any spell/weapon/torch in my left hand [SOLVED]

Hi! I'm using Melodic - Eastern Collection v2, and for some reason any time I equip the saree, it automatically unequips if I equip anything in my left hand, or if I dual wield a weapon like a greatsword or bow. Anything in my right hand is fine though.

 

It occupies slot 49 when equipped, although ANY other armour doesn't have this problem. Even other armours that are slot 49, including ones in the same modpack, don't have this problem. I've tried re-installing, and starting a new game with no mods activated apart from the clothing mod, AddItemExplorer and SkyUI, and I still have the same problem.

 

I've included my modlist and plugins, although as I said I did try a new game with almost no mods installed and the problem still persisted.

 

Any help at all? Thanks in advance.

Does it have some sort of weapon or shield keyword attached to it?

How would I check? I assume TES5EDIT? If so, what exactly would I look for?

Oh you were right! In TES5EDIT, in "Armour" it had "Shield" under "Record Flags"

 

Although I removed it, saved it and tried again, it still unequips. Then I removed the flag where it said "EQUP TYPE - Shield", still didn't work.

 

Then I added keywords "Armour-Cuirass" and "Armour-Light" because that's what other armours have, but still not luck. Any idea how to change it?

So even though I'm not playing Skyrim at the moment, I went and downloaded the Eastern Collection just because I really like Melodics stuff.

 

First thing I noticed, there are two Saree armors - the regular and an ALT version.  (I downloaded both two versions of Eastern Collection, not sure which I'm looking at since they have the same download name.  Your version may not have both???)  Did you make those changes to both versions of the Saree?

 

Other than that, you already did what I would have done by removing the record flag and equip type.

 

My only other guess right now, and probably won't work, is where it shows armor/daedric/daedric shield under male world model, maybe change that to daedric gauntlets or cuirass or something???  That's just a wild ass guess.

I'm such an idiot, the mod author posted a fix on a separate page, a while after he posted the original, which is why I didn't notice it. I downloaded it and it worked 

 

I really appreciate you mentioning the shield thing though, because it's the only reason another comment on the author's page managed to catch my eye, and I was able to find the fix through that. So thank you!
