Do they really have adult content (and if so where)?

"Adult content" doesn't only contains sexuality. But in the case of Wartune and probably some other games, it is mainly a advertisement trick to make people playing it. Though you can see a few sexual themes (flashing panties, ...), there isn't really more so that it could be only for adults. In fact, the games would need to ask for the age before you can play if there really would be adult content, and as far as I remember there weren't any questions on that.

GWAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Yeah. That's all just bullshit ads for shitty games who try and grab players any way they can. In fact, most of them will say things like "rated AO" or "XXX" or "for adults only" but then you check the actual ratings and it's E or T. Evony online was the first really prominent one to do it, but many more have followed suit. And no, they don't have any adult content. What plenty of them do have though is content ripped straight from games like Age of Empires 2. They have to rely on underhanded marketing to even get a playerbase. Don't give them your time.

THIS! Frankly it's a bit embarrassing when people automatically associate adult themes with flashing boobs.

Adult themes is a lot more than just boobs and sex. Hell take a look at Witcher 2, that game while it does have sex, has adult themes that have to deal with politics and morality.

I've seen ads for Wartune lately on LL, and I've seen them before on Nexus too. I checked it out briefly on Nexus a while ago. Looks pretty cool I guess. Never played it though.

Has anyone else played it?

The ads for it look very A=adult, but the vid for it looked very T=teen. I'd enjoy it either way (maybe), but I wanna know what I'm getting 1st. Too often do adult games concentrate only on sex, and teen games concentrate on, well, corny dialogue and overemphasised special moves.

I've yet to see an adult game (aside from Venus Rising) that has a kickass storyline and gameplay. I was thinking about playing Wartune (adult?), but when I see ads like this:

300x250-1372441507.gif ......and then see the vid (all fighting, nothing else), it throws me off. Does it even have a rating?

I played it once when I got bored. It's basicly a semi-turnbased fighting game, a bit like FF X2 (if I remember it correctly) with a much flatter story.

It also has a few common features like guilds and a pay-2-win shop, but simply by looking at the classes (warrior, archer, mage, how original!) you can see that it probably is good for a few days, nothing more.

Two things that I liked though was, that you can do many things together with others, even spererate quests, and that it combines a pure RPG with a bit more strategic city building.

Nope, it's just the exact same case as Evony, and all the other games that have used the same sleazy tactic.

Saw a blog post from someone who's been playing it day or two ago. Bonus: It's actually a sex game developer's blog.

http://dirtyc101.blogspot.com/2013/06/june-update-break-time.html

Not sure I trust the folks behind it terribly much though, as they seem to pull some really underhanded shit.   Since this is a porn blog, and blogs must have pictures, here's some examples.  Keep in mind that Wartune has NO PORN in it at all:

Oh, and a link in the post:

They actually are being yelled at for using a fake AO rating in their ads. They don't have a rating.

Wow. That is pretty blatant. Though Limbo of the Lost still takes the cake for biggest work of plagiarism in the video game industry. It's so thoroughly plagiarized that it's hard to tell exactly how much of it wasn't plagiarized. People are STILL finding plagiarized things in it. Everything from hollywood movies to other games...

Oh yeah, hah. I remember reading about that a while ago.

Not to mention the new R.I.P.D. game, which was made 3 months after the studio's last release... because it's just  a reskin of their game... Though it's not really plagiarism. Unless you can plagiarise yourself, hah.

Plagiarizing yourself... that... is certainly a new feat. There have been a few instances of similar things. Richard Garriot, for instance, is currently working on a new MMO that's a plagiarization of Ultima. How can Richard Garriot, creator of Ultima, possibly plagiarize Ultima? Because he doesn't own it anymore. So he's making a lawyer friendly rip off.

And unrelated, I just had to share this... Sweetie Pede

Evony was hilarious and then it got annoying just like how wartune is annoying.

I remember seeing an Evony Ad using a screenshot of a female character from the game Second Life. A screenshot I had seen many times years before hand. It was of an avatar wearing common low quality skin. These people couldn't even be bothered with making their own stuff. They probably literally googled "sexy lady" and grabbed images.

I remember when wartune ads first showed up, they used anime to try and get you to click their ads. I could have sworn at one point they used a screenshot from Dragon Ball Online. Then they eventually tried to the "adult game" approach. I'm looki ng at a stupid wartune ad as I type this...  These people must be doing really well and getting chumps to fall for them

Aeria games suck ass, You best remember that.

Avoid them or cheat them up.

Been spending a while 4 month on scarlet bade.

Their marketing never fail to make themselves like an idiot.

Being an idiot is one thing but whenever they challenges common sense a little too often people start packing.

Seriously. They DO know that people are going to find this stuff out and start warning others, right? I bet the only thing people know about the game now is that it is supposedly an adult game. They're not even advertising it as it actually is. There are bound to be plenty of people who wouldn't mind playing the  game that it is, if only they'd advertise it correctly. Stupid, cheap, bullshit gimmicks piss me off. Their advertisements are a total lie. (mostly talking about Wartune now)

I wonder if they actually manage to reach their Market, because I'm sure some players might enjoy the actual game, but the miss leading ads probably make most people leave when they realize they didn't get the boobies.

Wrote a small piece on this on my Steam / Xfire Group.

(Don't open this spoiler, it's just me trying to clean up the weird way the attachments insist on working.)

What did you expect? I told you. If I don't do this, then we just have this smaller one forced to be under the larger one... and that just looks weird.

I know this is really, really late... but I wouldn't mind a link to that, just for the hell of it, if you don't mind, hah.
