"Adult content" doesn't only contains sexuality. But in the case of Wartune and probably some other games, it is mainly a advertisement trick to make people playing it. Though you can see a few sexual themes (flashing panties, ...), there isn't really more so that it could be only for adults. In fact, the games would need to ask for the age before you can play if there really would be adult content, and as far as I remember there weren't any questions on that.

Evony online was the first really prominent one to do it, but many more have followed suit. And no, they don't have any adult content. What plenty of them do have though is content ripped straight from games like Age of Empires 2. They have to rely on underhanded marketing to even get a playerbase. Don't give them your time.

Adult themes is a lot more than just boobs and sex. Hell take a look at Witcher 2, that game while it does have sex, has adult themes that have to deal with politics and morality.

I played it once when I got bored. It's basicly a semi-turnbased fighting game, a bit like FF X2 (if I remember it correctly) with a much flatter story.

It also has a few common features like guilds and a pay-2-win shop, but simply by looking at the classes (warrior, archer, mage, how original!) you can see that it probably is good for a few days, nothing more.

 

Two things that I liked though was, that you can do many things together with others, even spererate quests, and that it combines a pure RPG with a bit more strategic city building.

Nope, it's just the exact same case as Evony, and all the other games that have used the same sleazy tactic.

It's so thoroughly plagiarized that it's hard to tell exactly how much of it wasn't plagiarized. People are STILL finding plagiarized things in it. Everything from hollywood movies to other games...

Plagiarizing yourself... that... is certainly a new feat. There have been a few instances of similar things. Richard Garriot, for instance, is currently working on a new MMO that's a plagiarization of Ultima. How can Richard Garriot, creator of Ultima, possibly plagiarize Ultima? Because he doesn't own it anymore. So he's making a lawyer friendly rip off.

Evony was hilarious and then it got annoying just like how wartune is annoying.

 

I remember seeing an Evony Ad using a screenshot of a female character from the game Second Life. A screenshot I had seen many times years before hand. It was of an avatar wearing common low quality skin. These people couldn't even be bothered with making their own stuff. They probably literally googled "sexy lady" and grabbed images.

 

 

I remember when wartune ads first showed up, they used anime to try and get you to click their ads. I could have sworn at one point they used a screenshot from Dragon Ball Online. Then they eventually tried to the "adult game" approach. I'm looki ng at a stupid wartune ad as I type this...  These people must be doing really well and getting chumps to fall for them
