For those looking to add Slaaneshi units to Cathay :

Westluo's Slaanesh and it's english patch are available on the workshop

Both mods works together but be careful on the load order ( got it working the first time putting the skins before the westluo mod on the mod manager)

Works also with lewdivan reskin

Edit: TabulaRasa, your work, and your name, are the stuff of legend.Nazarick will always talk about you with reverence.

Oh yeah I got that, didn't know it would work til I tried it, managed to get it working~ Kinda wished they added the heros though!

Also yeah, would be cool to see lewder versions of female units added to Slaanesh as corrupted individuals or perhaps lewder versions added to the corrupted Cathay faction.

Really looking forward to seeing how the Slaaneshi Miao Ying mods progress, it's always nice to see more diverse factions gameplay wise, and adding Slaaneshi stuff to Cathay is cool since rn their there aren't really any factions following that chaos god near the region. And it's also hot as hell.

I think it's perfect, even people who don't like piercing will tolerate this version. Lip looks puffy but still attractive

Hmm Tier 4? how many tiers are there?

No idea, don't really need an upper limit haha. Depends on the number of interesting ways for corruption.

Half an hour ago I figured out how art sets work which will let me toggle between character model + portraits in game (99.99% of reskin mods on the workshop are just replacing the default art set which wouldn't allow you switch between them), so that's a pretty huge breakthrough for the gameplay scripting.

Released stage 4 and updated all versions to support switching programmatically in game (download links changed). Blog is taking a while to get approved...

I don't know anything about scripting, but would it be possible to create something like a template script for people to use and fill out which lord the script works for so this could be replicated on other characters? Like if I create different outfits for legendary lords that I could switch through during the campaign?

It's "templated" already with the mod-specific names defined in one place so it's easy to track or replace for someone else. The actual framework for replacing art sets is pretty generic so others can just reuse it, but it's not generic to the extent that you can just include it and expect things to work - you'll have to copy it and edit some parts. It's also pretty heavily documented so that I remember what each part does when I look back in a week lol.

Wow, fantastic stuff going on here. Having changeable lord models on the fly is going to blow the doors open to lords and hero customization options and world events. It's cool to see it in it's infancy, before it inevitably becomes the hottest shit on any mod site.

Nah crazy this is another level mods.

@TabulaRasa There may be a more refined way to do that model changing. I remember a mod in WH2 that allowed you to change model for a character by making the options mount choices. Each mount choice was just a different model for the character. Mind you the character had no mount options so that made it work. It might be more complex if you wanted to do model changes to a character that does have a mount option, you would probably need to do a model change for each level + a separate one with the mount for each option.

BUT, for a character that has no mount options like Miao Ying, I would think it would work, unless it messes with the dragon transformation somehow.

You could theoretically do that with any character if you added mount options in the data tables, but that method would be a real pain in the butt. Editing a few lines in a script sounds a lot easier.

It would be more time consuming but a lot less jank feeling.

I am 99% sure defining one art set per corruption stage is the correct way to go about it instead of using mounts. Yuri from the prologue uses different art sets, so it's the canonical way and likely much more stable than messing with mounts. Changing mounts also wouldn't change the unit card. Mounts are also changeable, which wouldn't fit in with the mechanics of the corruption if you could just remove it.

Ah maybe I misunderstood how it works. The video I saw just has opening a text field and changing a value to change the model, if it's based on actual corruption that would be pretty cool.

It's finally(?) here, the corruption progression framework (content only up to stage 2 for now). The first two stages should be automatically updated, but if it doesn't work try re-subscribing.

Place above the stage mods in the mod manager or else you will crash to desktop.

Progress Miao Ying's corruption via

  • winning or losing a battle against a Slaanesh faction and deciding to accept their gift
  • accepting a gift from Slaanesh's realm of chaos and deciding to accept an extra gift
  • winning the battle against the Courtesan in Slaanesh's realm and accepting a parting gift
  • more ways planned for stage 3 and onwards (including unique consequences for losing to unique Slaanesh legendary lords)

I'm not sure if it's compatibility or timing but i don't have the event triggers on the framework =/ Maybe i should restart my campaign

Do you think the framework compatible westluo Slaaneshi Miaoying ? Your skins are ?

Edit : Nevermind, it works, and it works well ? My Li just automatically went to stage 4 (i thought that didn't worked, but i went from one to 4 without touching my mods or console, i'm just not sure i've seen stage 3)

And once again, good job ? It's already a nice mod and i know you have more planned for us

Being "herald" of Slaanesh, creates hate with the other 3 chaos gods. It's just lore but if you want to put a penalty (not very high)

or

Khorne, Nurgle, and Tzeentch armies receive a charge or morale buff against you

What's your load order? I tried westluo's and it overwrites the default Miaoying

Got to ask. How do you install those mods outside Workshop? I found Workshop mod location but all mods have their own folders named by numbers. I tried dropping these .pack files in mods folder and in one folder of these but didn't work.

put the .pack files directly into the data folder with the main game files

they will show in the mod manager as files you created and you can activate them like any workshop mod
