I got this idea when I was reading an article about orientalists where one said this quote:  Conquer thyself, till thou has done this, thou art but a slave; for it is almost as well to be subjected to another's appetite as to thine own.  I'm thinking of a quest where the PC must "conquer" herself in order to prevent her from being a "slave" to herself. The quest can be started when entering sleep and then the PC will be transported into some kind of dream world where she meets her doppelganger. The PC would be subjected to lots of tests and the only way to complete the quest is to make the PC's doppelganger submit to the PC. If the player manages to complete the quest, the player can travel back to her dreams and enjoy with herself.  I tried to spawn a clone of my PC and I succeeded to do so although the clone's voice is the vanilla voice (I had my PC's voice changed)     What do you guys think?
Thulas Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 An interesting idea, and with the right storyline a nice mod to play.For example the trigger for this dream could be either a daedra-prince or maybe one of the greybeards (this would fit more to your initial quote). Making yourself submit to yourself might need a few good gameplay-ideas though and you should think about further benefits for conquering yourself than simple sex.

I also had combat in mind which works like the brawling system except there are variations such as sword vs sword or magic vs magic. Or maybe training your Thu'um with your doppelganger?
Thulas Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Wouldn't really make sense to train Thu'um with your doppelgänger, since he/she knows just as much as you do, and ingame there wouldn't be any benefit from it, since he/she can't teach you a new one or something like that.

Maybe a battle using only the thu'um where the player has no weapons and is silenced? Perhaps the Greybeard or the daedric prince will grant a reward (an armor, or weapon, or spell, or perhaps a thu'um?) to the player.

The reward definitely should be something passive, since this would fit the idea in the back more. Either a buff that constantly is on the player or can be periodly renewed by visiting the dream and either have sex with yourself (is this still masturbation by the way?) or beat yourself again to keep your doppelgänger quiet.

As you win a battle with your doppelganger, you are given perks to choose from just like those Black Book quests for the Dragonborn DLC. Hey, this idea is really getting interesting.  And maybe a chance of having the power to summon a shadow of yourself once a day which also uses the thu'um. Or enable player flight via growing wings like a dragon's (I have seen a mod for flying before but I don't know if it will be effective)?  And selfcest being masturbation is still debatable. xD

Â I don't got the dragonborn dlc, so I don't know about these black books. The Black Books starts a quest when you read it which will transport you to Hermaeus Mora's plane of Oblivion. After you complete each quest, you get some sort of power up but you could only choose one.
Thulas Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Sounds boring. I'd rather fight myself. It might be difficult to create a challange against yourself that is realistic (aká hard) but still doable and fun to play. This probalby will be the first problem you'd have to solve.

Hopefully, if someone manages to pull a mod like this, your doppelganger should not be like Miraak. That dragonborn was a pice of cake xD

As much as I would want to, I have no skills nor the time to do it. If I had the capabilities, I would have posted something that might be a WIP mod. But yeah, just an idea xD
Thulas Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 There allways is some sparetime that only waits to be wasted in the progress of learning on how to get things done. You'd be suprised with how much you can learn within a few minutes when euphoria hits you. At least most of my own work was created that way; euphoria and boredom are strong allies.
