J4X0N_23 Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I downloaded some accesories made by JoshQ for The Sims 3 and most of them don't show up in CAS (but some do show up and work perfectly fine). Any idea how to fix this?
landess Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Usually the first thing to ask is 'did you clear the game caches'?

I cleared the caches multiple times. I even deleted my whole Mods folder in the Documents and made new one, exactly the same and put exactly the same packages into Mods\Packages as before. Nothing helped. I thought maybe the problem lies in the Resource.cfg but I'm not sure. But if so, why does some content work and other doesn't?

I saw some things worked - so I immediately dismissed 'mod set-up' problems because you included that info. Now I need to clarify 'not showing up'. Does this mean in the Menu - or on the Sim? I ask because JoshQ has been working on and releasing his Med-Bod CC for awhile and because they are custom 'made' for each other I'm curious if you are trying to mix and match his Med-Bod stuff with either default or other creators CC? >>> As Always: Download again and try - files can be corrupted in 'transit' and it's just like checking to see if something is plugged in (has power) - shit happens. Thought to add for everyone as well - Since we're talking about Accessories, there is a default limit by EA which is 'one per location' (head/neck/etc.). NRaas Master Controller has OPTIONS to change the CAS setup to allow more/different items to be worn from the accessories tab - but depending on the CC/Location - I find the total limit to be around 10 objects on average, otherwise I'll CTD usually. Also some items will 'block' others from appearing. Just be patient, test things individually and in a 'Particular Order' (a bit like Make-Up as well).

What I mean by "not showing up" is that in CAS, in the accesories tab, there aren't most of the CC accesories in the list. Therefore I can't even select them, because the game acts as if I didn't add them at all. Also, I was trying to equip them only on the MedBod naked top and bottom. I tried every outfit category, I tried everything CAS considered. The accesories just won't appear on the list. What I didn't try (And I'm sorry I didn't try it before creating this Topic) is adding the packages one at a time, then launch the game, try if it works and find the culprit. Because I feel as if one of those packages just broke the game when loading CC and it suddenly didn't load some CC. Maybe you're right that those packages are just corrupted. Or maybe there's something wrong with my illegal copy of the game (latest possible version, all DLCs installed). Anyway, I will try re-download everything. If it doesn't help, I'll try adding each package one by one, every time delete the caches and then launching the game. Once I do that, I will post about the results in this Topic.
JoshQ Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 What accessories are the ones not showing? Normally the same packages I upload are the same one I use on my game and so far I haven’t had any problems, although there’s a very, very small chance they can get corrupted on upload. Also a pirated game shouldn’t be the issue, do you have the latest patch (1.67)?
J4X0N_23 Posted February 28, 2022 Author Posted February 28, 2022 I'm sorry! I forgot those assets were not accesories but 2 tops and 2 bottoms. I'm very sorry for messing this up. However, in the CAS I was searching in all the categories and they were in none of those. I tried looking at every single thing related to young adult and adult female sims in CAS. Those items just weren't there at all. Anyway, with this mistake out of the way... 7 hours ago, JoshQ said: What accessories are the ones not showing? First I tried redownloading and reinstalling just those 4 assets that didn't work. And now they do work! So maybe they were indeed just corrupted. However, I noticed that the "Jet Set Countessa" and the "Barely-there Skirt N03" don't work (don't show up in the lists of tops and bottoms) for young adult female sims. They work only for adult sims although on the web there is stated that they should work even for young adults. Is that a bug, something the autor didn't notice or is it intentional?

Yep it's a bug or more exactly somehow a box went untick I just uploaded new zips with the 'young adult' category enabled. Dammit the server hasn’t updated the file yet… Let’s try attaching the files directly here: afBottom_BarelyThereSkirt_N03_MedBod.zip afTop_JetSetCountessa_MedBodEDIT.zip You can also do this by yourself by using s3pe, this program allows you to see inside a package and edit-extract textures, meshes, etc. In this case what we want is to edit the 'CASP', this file contains info about the garment like the age and categories it's intended to. So once selected press the 'Grid' button down below. This will open a new window with a ton of entries, just go and select 'AgeGender' then 'Age' and finally double click on 'YoungAdult' to change its state from 'false' to 'true'. Now on the bottom press 'Commit' and finally press 'crtl+s' to save the package. You don't' have to delete your caches for this one, the game will automatically honor the change. Just a warning, don't change the age to 'teen' or 'elder' nor modify the gender unless you want to see meshes malfunctioning. You can go to 'ClothingCategory' and enable a piece of clothing for 'Swimwear' or 'Firefighting' you can also remove those you don't want to use, just don't enable 'Naked' unless you want to see your sims take a bath on clothes. Thank you for your report!

I tried editing it myself and followed your instructions. Now those 2 assets work for young adults too. Thank you. And just by the way, I really like your content. My thanks goes also to landess. Thanks to both of you my problem is now fixed.
