I have looked but with AE and SE and people saying all sorts of conflicting stuff I just dunno where to find the... 3000001 version... may not have the right amount of 0's there.

That's not what you want for SE... or AE.

I installed the SE version, I don't have the AE one.

 

This is what I get.

Then you don't have a sos dll compatible with your game version.

1.5.97 -> SOS 1.1.4

1.6+ -> SOS 1.1.4 + SOS AE/updated dll

 

So, are you sure you have a game version of 1.5.97 and not 1.6+?

I had 1.6, had to google how to look it up. XD

That dll was never ported and despite this it is (was?) perpetually included in one of the creature mods (CF or MNC?). You can safely remove it.
