Trykz Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Spriggans..... the bane of every hunter in Skyrim. Their deep connection with, and heavy influences over nature have cost many a hunter their lives. Able to turn every animal in the vicinity into an instant ally, while fading into the ethereal, they walk the forests of Tamriel as masters, dispatching anyone and anything they consider a *trespasser*. Now imagine if you will: a young woman strolling through the wilderness. Accosted by one such creature, and turned slave to the Spriggan's desires. Imagine the product of such an abhorrent union of human and nature: I imagine it would look something like this: Now imagine further: such a creature possessing every ability a Spriggan possesses. In a logically calculating mind, capable of coherent thought and emotion. Imagine the destruction such a creature could inflict. Well, imagine no more: Fade into the ethereal, to escape overwhelming odds: But it can't *all* be peaches and cream The Spriggan blood coursing through your veins is also susceptible to fire. With a 33% fire resistance debuff, a well versed mage will prove quite a challenging adversary. More to come........ as promised: Knowing that such a creature could very well rule their entire race, the Spriggans have prepared a very special offering for their would be Queen at the Guardian Stones: A very special magical elixir with two special effects, should you choose to drink it: A permanent bond to all Spriggans, as well as most other creatures of Skyrim (except insects afaik) It can only be prepared by wild Spriggans, and it's effects are irreversible. So make your choice very carefully
GensouSekai Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 So thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis is what you meant by "Not dryads, but something better." You, my good friend, are freaking GLORIOUS.
Standman Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Dooooooodddd....whoa.I was hoping you'd bust out the Demoness next instead of this, but no matter. Transhuman goodness is transhuman GOODNESS. Is it UNPB (BBP)? Hope so. I'm wondering how such a creature came to be exactly from the introduction though: Did the Spriggan... *ehem* with the girl, or was the human girl transformed through some twisted application of nature magic?Regardless, this looks amazing, such erotic potential, ehehehahahaha... Please, please work on the Demoness next if possible, there's NEVER ENUFF dakka supernatural seductresses to go around. *Note*: Sorry for bothering you about this Trykz, but I've posted a reply concerning use of your resources to your old Moonshadow thread if you haven't seen it already. Just a heads-up. Also, hoping the TCRA readme's on its way!

I'll leave the answer to your question to your imagination I saw your post in the other thread, and thanks TCRA's tutorial is *sort of* on hold for the moment. Mostly because I'm using the construction of the next version as reference material for the tutorial. And partly because I keep getting distracted by new race ideas LOL Finally, I updated the first post with some additional info Trykz
TheGreyWolf Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Man I never though the Spriggans in Skyrim looked all that interesting, but you just made them look cool and sexy in 1 mod
Silvist Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Wow Trykz, Here I thought you were all out of ideas, THEN...this comes. Regardless of anything else I must simply applaud you, and of course the GREEN ^^. I really don't even know which mythology spriggans are from...probably something nordic (cause of course everything in skyrim has a nordic spin ;p). So that being the case, its a very nice twist on a dryad. Dryads are typically stuck to protecting their tree, so its hard for me to see a reason a dryad would be traveling through skyrim (especially in areas where there IS NO TREES..simply ice). A spriggan (which reminds me of a forest imp) just spells childish chaos. In fact you could almost call them the children of Sheogorath. Regardless, I can't wait to see this once its completed. Nice work, and thanks again for sharing ^^
« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Is this a Spriggan replacer?? I take it you're new? Trykz is our resident custom race modder. So that means the Spriggan Queen is an entirely new custom race mod.
Trykz Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Just as an FYI: This race uses a new version of the PartyGirl body I made in BodySlide. The body meshes that will be supplied in the mod, are in the TCRA directory for the old body, meaning that they will replace the old body right away. Once I finish the final version of TCRA, these new meshes will override that body, meaning you'll be able to delete these meshes from your installation of the mod without anything changing. The body will remain the same. However, If you want to use a different body: the body tattoos will not work if the meshes you replace them with aren't CBBE based meshes. And no, I have no intention of making new texture sets for other body types at this time. I will be creating a new set for the Sevennity bodies at some point in the future (likely when more armors are created/converted for it), meaning they should also work for UNP/B. But that will be at a time yet to be determined. Anyhow, here's a few more shots of how the race currently appears in the game: The BodySlide Preset will be included in the package

Standman Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Tattoos won't work for alternate meshes? Snap... Luckily, I found a nice set of floral tattoos that can serve as a more than adequate substitute, but it looks like now I'll have to mess around for hours on a image editor just to color it in, haha! Also, would drinking the potion cause some bad armor juju because of adding the spriggan bark meshes? Or maybe armor just isn't going to show up at all...

Also, would drinking the potion cause some bad armor juju because of adding the spriggan bark meshes? Or maybe armor just isn't going to show up at all... That's Nalim's Spriggan armor set. They aren't actually part of the body meshes. Only the antlers are attached to the head as an extra headpart. They're a bit too far forward, but most hairs cover up the point where they connect. If someone wants to move them back in NifSkope or something, I'm fine with it and would appreciate the fix. Attaching the armor meshes to the body (non-removable) would seriously limit armor usage potential. Essentially, they would show through other armors.

Good to know!
Alphaman Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Imagine if this race can become a vampire.... 33% natural fire debuff coupled with a 50% vampiric fire debuff? Jesus But this here race looks like something else. This along with the Valkyrie one, they're on a whole different level
Trykz Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 So...... before this goes out for download (I'm still testing and touching up a few things, so likely tomorrow evening), I figured I'd post you a little more info: First, I didn't change ANY of the default mechanics for the Spriggan abilities. Meaning you use them EXACTLY as a Spriggan would. Spells and abilities will fire ONLY from the left hand. And NONE can be dual cast. The Spriggan invisibility does NOT make you completely invisible (the constant swarm around you prevents total concealment), but it does seem to raise defense a bit, as well as slightly modifying the sneak skill. When you use it, it also calls any compatible wildlife to your aide (deer, wolves, sabrecats, and various others, but NOT ALL), from a range of about 6000 units around you (3000 units in every direction), and causes the same green glow effect that Spriggan called creatures display. Some seemingly compatible creatures will display the effect, but will NOT aide you, such as mammoths (which are endeared to giants only). I opted for the Spriggan Matron's heal, which can replenish 200 health in a single cast, but can only be used once per day (normal Spriggan's only heal 100). It is NOT set up as an ability, and MUST be cast from the left hand, same as Spriggans. I also opted for the Spriggan Matron's spray spell, which does 25dps, and has ample range. It CAN be resisted by some things. Vanilla skeletons for sure, but none from SkyMoMod. I'm unsure about dragons as of yet. I gave this race a magicka rate of 30. Quite high yes, but also quite necessary at very low level play on Master and Legendary modes. Otherwise the spray spell would kill your magicka pool near instantly, meaning quite a wait to replenish for reuse or healing. NO other stats were altered. Expect to be using your newbie heal quite often early on. No changes were made to health or stamina, nor did I add to the magicka pool, so don't go picking any fights with giants right away I'll have a few more test results to post tomorrow. Trykz
CGi Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Any plan to add non-human race as well, like Khajiit and Argonians?
Trykz Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Any plan to add non-human race as well, like Khajiit and Argonians? I don't quite understand your question. Do you mean using them as a base for custom non-human races? If that's your question, then not likely. Those two races are far too problematic right from the start. Things like armor incompatibilities, completely separate head meshes, etc.. Elves are easy because they share the human head mesh, by altering it through morph files. Khajiit and Argonian don't use morphs that are compatible with humanoid races, which is why everything about them is separate from the human, elf, and orc races. Bodies, heads, morph files..... pretty much everything. Their unique heads are why they need special helmet meshes. If you mean creating non-human races from new mesh types, then the answer is no. I looked into the potentials of the Anubis a while back, but at that time it didn't seem feasible (inadequate or unavailable morphs and such). If some things have recently changed about it, I may reconsider those potentials. We'll see. Trykz
CGi Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Yes, i meant them as a base for custom non-human races (in this case, your the Spriggan Queen race), so i could roleplay my Khajiit with the story you gave. *sad-face* i know those races are more complicated, hence the missing tail handling in animations in most sex mods, making the tails clip thru npcs and things. Sometimes even pusing actors away. *even-more-sad-face*
Trykz Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 So I finally got around to finishing up testing. I found that draugrs resist the Spriggan spray, but dragons do not. Oh, and the actortypecreature keyword breaks SexLab Bleak Falls was quite interesting, because all I had to use against the draugrs was the basic flames spell. But fighting Mulmirnir the dragon (or whatever his name is) at the Western Watchtower, proved to be both fun AND challenging, since he kept setting my ass on fire, necessitating my running away to heal up on multiple occasions. On Legendary difficulty, even with a magicka regen rate of 30 (10 times vanilla), the fight lasted well over 15 minutes, most of the guards were killed, and Irileth was pretty beat up and crispy by the time it was over LOL In any event, I'm satisfied with the race overall. I was going to release this tonight, but I still have to clean out the unused files (meshes, textures, etc,,) from all the folders and package it up. So I'll finish up tonight and package it up for download in the morning. Trykz
Standman Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Well, that makes sense. Spriggan spraying seems like a "life burst" attack, so to speak, so I imagine it wouldn't do much 'gainst dead, soulless husks to begin with. Glad it works on dragons.
Silvist Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I can't wait for you to release this! But I will be patient, I swear....*coughs*. I really like the idea that you left them almost exactly like spriggans in game. I tried to do the same with the werewolf and vampire mod a while back. Biggest issue I have with monster like races is the fact they don't use facegens. From the ones I have looked at in nifskope, they are all typically one mesh piece. Which also makes it a PAIN for tweaking their skeletons. My apologies for the random question, but how do you actually enable legendary difficulty? I play on master, and haven't been able to figure out how to enable legendary @_@ Once again, thanks for all the hard work Trkyz.
Trykz Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 My apologies for the random question, but how do you actually enable legendary difficulty? I play on master, and haven't been able to figure out how to enable legendary @_@ Same as choosing Master, in the Gameplay menu in game. Although I should mention that accessing Legendary mode requires the Dragonborn DLC. To me at least, the cost of the DLC was worth it for that feature alone. It also allows you to *reset* any level 100 perks, sets them to Legendary, and returns their points to re-spend while leveling the skills in Legendary mode. It's a little rough going right after a reset, but it greatly enhances perks later on. Some late night testing uncovered 2 minor issues last night: The swarm effect gets REALLY annoying after a while. However, I don't want to just remove it, so I'm going to adjust it's magnitude down. A LOT. Initial testing was performed with no enhanced graphics effects, so it wasn't uncovered until I set up everything the way I normally play the game. I imagine an ENB would intensify the effect well beyond tolerance. Also, the Spriggan Call of the Wild effect seems to have a somewhat odd behavior, which I'm thinking is intended by Bethesda and completely normal. Approaching a Spriggan grove activates it without it being cast, or even equipped in the left hand (but not always, and only the first time as far as I can tell). It also occurs when near a vampire (it happened when I got near a fledgling in hiding), and at other random times when danger is close. Almost like a warning of danger nearby. I don't really see any issue with this, but figured I'd mention it now. Actually, I thought it was pretty sweet I'm loading it back into the CK now for the final tweaks, so it should be ready for this afternoon. Trykz
