Hook 5 Free 2019 update

While updating my documentation for installing "VX with Hook under Linux", I discovered Pervo has removed his 2019 update of Hook 5 Free from his Patreon page. ?

 

I have no idea why.

 

Hook5 Free was originally released in 2017. The 2019 update had several key improvements. I forget them all, but I do remember the biggest fix was it no longer crashed if a room's LevDef file included references to Hook 5 Objects (".h5m" files.) If anyone else recalls all the fixes in the "2019" update, please comment below.

 

If you don't have the 2019 release, you can download it from me here (765k). (Requires "DirectX 11".)

 

REMINDER: This is the stripped down FREE version of Hook 5. Don't install if you have the "paid" version.

 

FOR ANYONE WHO MAY NEED OR WANT IT, I uploaded the final version of "Hook 4" ("msvs7") here. Requires "DirectX 9".)

The 2019 Hook5 basic update was uploaded in MG. But since MG is gone, so has the files. So he didn't really delete anything. Luckily pervokpetr posted it KE.

 

And if you payed attention to what has been uploaded, K17 uploaded the files here

So perhaps don't add confusion to a subject that has been properly addressed and covered.

First, let's not get snotty with the "if you paid attention" BS.

 

There no indication on K17's post that's it's the 2019 update. It simply says "Hook 5 basic".

 

Pervo DID post the 2019 update on his patreon page. That's where I got it. He only posted a link to his page on MG. Not the file itself.

Seems like you don't know how to use Patreon. A quick search on Pervokpetr page shows that he DID post information about Hook5 in 2019. And here is the best part, ready? He says that he intends to post in ModsGarden. ?️‍♂️

 

Your upload is missing certain files. I'm certain if people follow your instructions they would ask and you would tell them to ask pervokpetr. But I guess its pervokpetr fault because he DELETED files that he never posted in patreon, but posted them in MG. ?

 

So yea, you are right. I did pay attention and I do know that. I figured I share that information but I guess its too much for you. ?

Don't insult people, and when they're offended, insult them again by citing the opinion of other people who've done the same as if it proves a point.

 

All K17's download link says is "Hook 5 basic (optional);". Period. Does it say it's the "2019" version? No. How do you know it's the 2019 version? Download and checked the date? Is your expectation that people... who may not even be aware there was an update in 2019... will know to check the date (and that I needed to before posting my copy?)

 

Pervo posted updated Instructions in 2019, but the link to 2019 H5 itself is not there. So please don't tell me I "don't know how to use Patreon" if you can't tell the difference between an app and instructions (but please, don't be offended by that.) ?

 

My upload is EXACTLY what Pervo uploaded. There are no "missing files". It is all that is needed for a working copy of H5free. And you can continue to insist he never posted it on his page, but since that's where I got it (and even bookmarked the page after doing so), I can assure you he did.

 

But go ahead and keep attacking me and then calling ME "thin skinned" based on the opinions of other obnoxious users who think no one should be offended by unprovoked attacks (unless the criticism is towards THEM.)

I point out that you are saying contradictory stuff and this is the biggest kicker. Do you have a grip against K17? I mean, are you literally asking me IF I downloaded K17 files and checked the dates of creation? ?

 

Can you read? I said I did. But I take you didn't read. So let me say it again, yes I did download it and can confirm its has the 2019 version.

But here let me again "tell you" that you are flawed here. You didn't bother reading pervo post. He even said what is needed to fix those crashes. But I guess you are hook5 pro here after all. ?

 

You'd be surprised that I've gotten opinions on you from people from this club page. But my so called attacks are purely based on how you interacted with me. I have asked you a question in the past, friendly, and you brushed me to the side. So I decided to do my own moves and concluded that you are a phony. I already did that and have hook5 paid. But there are some people who don't want to pay for hook5 despite being a dollar. You should know this.

 

If you payed attention, the discussion is that oystercup is pushing misinformation on Hook5 free, which is already linked here with the documented information posted in MG. Despite already being linked and properly and neatly organized, he is pushing the idea to know what pervo posted on his patreon because he has it booked marked.

I haven't purchased H5 because I strive for maximum compatibility.

 

I don't release anything that isn't usable by everyone.

And I for one appreciate that. Over at KE most of the new rooms are H5 paid and that puts me off, since I've never liked the way the game runs with H5. I have a new rig now, but I've yet to try hook on it.

All I will say is I understand everyone's points, but this is not something worth fighting over.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but the "other" club existed long before this one. HDiddy created the other club almost immediately after MG went down as an emergency refuge for members and a place for everyone to stockpile as much content as could be salvaged before the MG servers were completely shut down. Over the months that followed, it became the defacto "hub" for the community soon after. This club, the "official" club didn't come to be until after The Team refused to come to the rather fair terms the KE admins had set up to welcome them onto KE. Like Haze said, you'd know all of this "if you paid attention". Maybe speak on you know instead of making baseless speculation and taking shots at the other community because you got kicked out, eh? Thanks.

 Yes, the "other" club exists well before this one. But not created to save contents from ModsGarden. Someone saw the opportunity to take advantage of the empty niche. Selfishness rather than altruism. I wish success and all the best to the "other" club, let us collect data on registration and use restrictions  very long-long time. But I have not gone to tell them who right and who is wrong and who is better. I never claimed "LL" has been around longer.

 

As for being "kicked out", I left (happily.) Anything Hdiddy did after that was his own doing.

 

Your promotion & defense of another site over here on "LL" is just as rude & inconsiderate.
