Auto Saves take extremely long

So for a long time i had this problem that my loadscreens were all absurdly long. Like, over 5 minutes, sometimes up to 7 minutes which made the game almost unplayable when i was doing something that required me to change cells alot. Now after trying dozens of solutions i found i eventually tried disabling autosaves and the difference is night and day. Now, my loadscreens are at worst 25 seconds long, often instant, in a heavily modded long term game with hundreds of mods. The same is true for sleeping, now instant, while before with autosave on resting enabled it'd take a few minutes every time.

I'd like to find out what causes this though since auto saves were useful for me (my game does crash once in a while and a few times auto saves came in quite handy). My manual saves started taking a little bit longer aswell but i assume this is because of savegame bloat, they dont take longer than 10 seconds. I dont use quick saves at all.

There's some mods that cause this. It's not exactly their fault, but a problem on how skyrim handles some things, as scripts keep getting added to save file and their size increases, this also starts to happens.

I had this problem a long time ago, and for LE I didn't find a solution except to disable every auto save. On SE I still haven't had this problem.

The longer you play, the longer it will take to save. Had similar thing after 600 hours with one character. This is engine issue, nothing that can really be done about it.

Also, (but not only) take a look at your SKSE cosave file. Some mods tend to bloat it. All above 500kb should alert you.

NIO Cleaner can help

Tried this, turns out my SKSE co save was 6MBs big. Cleaning it reduced it to 1,8MBs. This significantly reduced saving time of both manual saves (down from ~15 seconds to ~2) aswell as auto saves during load screens (down from ~4-7 minutes to what seems to be between 40 seconds - 80 seconds so far after testing around a bit with a few cells). Thanks alot!
