magodanie Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 i was messing with some enbs, installing, changing ini files, but i decided to remove it. Well, i think i messed something in the main files, since now my game graphics looks too different... anyway, i want to know if its possible to re-install skyrim without losing mods, also i use Vortex to manage my files.
ReverendFelix Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 It is possible sure, though a bit trick. First, I would suggest making a back up of your entire Skyrim file. That way when (probably when not if) something goes wrong, you don't lose everything. That said, depending on your Skyrim game source is where your options lie. Steam can do it's check integrity thing for example. So start by basically sabotaging your Skyrim install by removing what you think is screwed up, and have it re-installed. You'll most likely need to use your back up Skyrim file to revert any changes you made to get the game back to where it was for you. Hope it helps... and good luck! Additional thought; Are you sure it isn't just .ini settings? "BethINI" can help with that in the future if you aren't already using it. It has a roll back feature.
RohZima Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 DONT reinstall your game over something so trivial. I only resintalled once since 2015 for a new PC. The game files are in BSA so there is never a reason to reinstall. Just try to restore your ini files. Try to rename them so Skyrim recreates them or get them from other users or from mods. Delete all t enbxxx files plus the extra stuff in the preset you installed.
Grey Cloud Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 What @RohZima said plus if you removed your ENB preset then you need to reinstall ENBoost or you will be crashing on a regular basis (assuming you run LE).
