The difference between OCBP and OCBPC?

Hey, can anyone tell me the difference between these two mods? I've tried looking, but I literally cannot find a single sentence that states exactly what each of these mods do. It's always "it does/adds physics". Yeah, great, I got that after the 4th time, but what does it actually do. Is it a body mesh that I need to bodyslide? Does it simply take effect over my current CBBE preset? (because I like my preset). And WHAT is the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OCBP AND OCBPC! (and all other physics mods).

Can I safely install them? Do they work for general play? Do they work with AAF? Is it for every body, npc's included? The mod page couldn't be emptier about it. Even the fcking github has a single line README that doesn't even fully explain what the acronym stands for!!

Sorry, got a little heated there at the end. I just feel so stupid, like I'm missing it entirely.

Not an expert on FO4 modding but used CBPC in Skyrim.

For Skyrim it was like this:

CBP = Physics engine (no idea what CB stands for, maybe a nudge to CBBE (Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Edition)

CBPC = Physics engine with collision

Did a quick research for Fallout and it seems to be like this:

CBP = Physics engine

OCBP = Open source fork of the physics engine

OCBPC = Open source fork of the physics engine with collision

Hope that at least helps a bit, can't really help with the other questions, as I didn't really mod my FO4 much. Maybe search for CBPC for Skyrim ... I could imagine it might work very similar.

CBP adds an alternative physics system for certain body parts. If I had to guess that extra C stands for collisions, same way as in the CBPC fork of CBP which adds collisions in Skyrim SE.

And yeah, hard to find any proper description since these were removed from nexus... You can check these articles to see each plugin options. It seems like only OCBPC has settings to tweak collision spheres. So yeah, most likely C is for collisions and these articles are your best bet for settings documentation.

Thanks for the help, you guys. It did in fact clear things up a bit

You do actually need meshes built for the various acronyms whatever physics version these happen to be.

The Body and Outfit meshes need to have the animation weight paints, well painted on them.

Also decide on a singular system and stick to that, not seeing a lot of evidence that these can or should ever be mixed and matched.

It looks like base game physics can be mixed with a singular system.

I have made a lot of conversions of outfits over to Atomic Beauty and IKAROS for OCBP, available here on Lovers Lab.

I have looked around and there is a lot of stuff out there for physics systems although it involves going to other sites to get stuff and also getting on their official discords to get at a lot more stuff for some systems such as TWB and Fussion Girl, although FG does have a nice amount of stuff on Nexus and Lovers Lab if you use both while True Wasteland Body well you gotta have a discord membership over there to get at a lot of conversions.

My own body of work on Atomic Beauty is located here on LoversLab, all under 1 file page, and rivals the other body types in amount of content and offers OCBP for not only human race but also the IKAROS race just as a comparison.  Its functionally easier to just go over there look for the name of the outfit you want.

Anyway the above is to point out that you need outfits to be rigged for the physics you want to use and to mention not just my own body of work but point out that Fusion Girl and True Wasteland Body also offer a significant amount of outfit conversions that have physics rigged for them.

As far as I know these physics outfits and bodies should all work with AAF.

Should not be a problem at all.

Although IKAROS will need a patch which is available also, reason its a totally new race for Fallout 4.

Edit,

PS from what I have seen there is almost nothing in CBBE that has advanced physics like OCBP and OCBPC may be because that version of physics has been moved off of Nexus over to here on Lovers Lab.
