Nymphy_ Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Hello, I have been having some issues with FNIS lately. First I was getting error 76, but I managed to fix it by adding to Window Defender's exclusion list and then is was working fine. Now I am getting this new error 53 that says ERROR(53): Could not find file 'DebugData.txt'. Not sure what else could be causing the problem, re-installing FNIS has not helped and I even tried disabling the anti-virus completely while running it and still not working. If anyone knows any other solutions I can try, it would be greatly appreciated
coolfreaky Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 i think but i am not sure it is related to file redirection in Mod Manager or Fnis ! Spoiler Installation and Execution NOTE: It is GENERALLY and STRONGLY recommended, that you DO NOT INSTALL any of Steam, Skyrim, FNIS in folders that are protected by Windows UAC (User Account Control). These are "C:/Program Files (x86)" or "C:/Program Files" (or their localized correspondents, e.g. "C:/Programme (x86)"). Use root folders like "D:\Games". This way you can avoid serious protection issues, especially when using Mod Managers. . . . File Redirection. This allows you to redirect all relevant FNIS generated files into a folder outside Skyrim\Data (to support Vortex/MO profiles). It includes all files that change the Skyrim animation functionality. FNIS temporary files and logs will still be written to the regular places (under data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users). To use this functionality, the following parameter needs to be defined (FNIS.ini, or command line) RedirectFiles=<folder outside of Skyrim\Data> e.g. RedirectFiles=D:\FNIS_Redirect To activate File Redirection, you need to set the patch for "File Redirection (Vortex/MO profiles support)". If you start FNIS from command line, this patch is automatically implied. To see how this can be used together with your actual mod manager, refer to your mod manager's documentation. Start FNIS from command line (done by Vortex, or from a user defined .bat file (not possible whith "virtual install"!). The commandline has the following format <FNIS_path>\GenerateFNISforUsers <FNIS_ini_parameters> e.g C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers InstantExecute=1 PSCD=0 The <FNIS_ini_parameters> are the same that can be specified in the FNIS.ini file. (see FNIS.ini0) copy directly from Fnis mod installation in nexus . - you can run fnis for users once directly and close it ( directly from where you have installed it ) . than run fnis normally from Mod Manager . - you surely have a triangle with a red number within pointing to the ' overwrite ' folder ( open with explorer and drag and drop the files in the corresponding folders mods ).

Thank you. I'll try and see if that is causing issue. The good thing is that animations already installed are fine, but I will not be able to get anymore this is fixed
Spider4Chau Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 same problem, i cant fix it...helplessness bro.
ttts1 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 17 hours ago, Spider4Chau said: same problem, i cant fix it...helplessness bro. if you look in the file locations for FNIS, either the install folder or the Skyrim install folder (I think under Data but may be wrong) or any other place that FNIS may be hitting, do you see a DebugData.txt file?
greenmango12 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 For those error sometimes happen, when I change profile. or try to make perfectly new FNIS patch, without activate old one. I think FNIS try to keep log or some old generate files. when user make patch for current install animations. Anyway, it is my way to use FNIS with MO2 then generate FNIS patch, but easy exchange profiles. at first go to FNIS behavor mod directory, you should find FNIS.ini0 file. (it is offered when you install FNIS behavor with mod organizor 2) it is template of user config file. then you duplicate it, and make new mod directory for FNIS patch.. so it only include FNIS.ini in my pic I already generate and move files to the patch directory, but if you do it first time, you have no generate file. if your current profile name is test, make new empty mod, name as FNIX_test_patch etc,, then locate the FNIS.ini0 , and rename it as FNIS.ini Then open the FNIS.ini file from your txt editor, and set path as your mo2 overwrite directory. like this. Once you make your custom FNIS.ini, you may better to keep copy in another PC directory, so you can easy re-use it. (you may simply copy and paste the ini for each profile setting) if you set config so, FNIS should generate all files into overwrite directory (= keep safe). Then when generate FNIS patch, keep these 3 rule. everytime. 1. should make empty your overwrite directory untill generate FNIS patch. 2. always activate the FNIS ini included mod. so FNIS can find the setting file, then generate file to your overwirte directory. 3. when launch FNIS you should check " File redirection pforile support /MO2 voltex" like this Then click Update FNIS behavor like this As OP said, when you make new profile then there is no FNIS patch, . or sometimes break something, then FNIS may lost path for the log or the DebugData.txt etc and say error, then do not generate necessary files. I can easy reproduce this problem. THe problem file name may change, (which file FNIS can not find, or say it is used by other process etc,,) but if you have set config correctly, and follow my way, even though FNIS complain, and you shut down or EXIT FNIS >> return mod manager, you should find some files are new generated in MO2 overwrite directory.. check it please. Then you drug all overwrite files in to the FNIS patch directory (which you made for current pforile and it should include FNIS.ini you made) simply run FNIS again with keep 3 rule. I mentioned already. . this time, FNIS never complain, (in your mod overwrite directory) then generate all necessary file. (without your animation file corrupted etc) So important thing is, 1. Force FNIS to generate all files to MO2 overwrite directory. 2. even thoguh FNIS complain, when you exit, FNIS, it auto generate those necesarry file, so make it as new mod, then activate it, and run FNIS again. Usulaly it should work. (though when I first see, those error I really afraid, but I already know, it often happen, when I make new profile etc,, but FNIS generate those. so you can use it nexttime run FNIS without mess up or re-uninstall install everything. After generate Patch , I always drug and drop those FNIS generate file, to current FNIS patch, then MO2 overwrite it correctly. I saw some you tube vide may say, different thing, but as for me, this procedure should work. (so everytime Activate FNIS patch mod, then run and generate file to overwrite. and drug-and drop to current FNIS patch cirectory. and overwrite all.
greenmango12 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 One thing I notice, the mod author said Quote IMPORTANT: To take effect, this file (FNIS.ini0) has to be copied MANUALLY to Skyrim\Data\FNIS.ini. Then edit FNIS.ini. 'For NMM Virtual Install or MO users: FNIS.ini has to go to "real" SKYRIM\Data (NOT inside the virtual mod folders!) But If you actually activate the mod which include this ini, when run FNIS, , MO2 should find the ini and actually show the ini in data. . so FNIS can find it and generate file in overwrite. So I never install those setting ini in my real skryim data (it is strong point for MO2. why we do different thing only for FNIS or some specific mod? basically no need) I know there are some modder say same-thing only for their specific mod and their custom setting files. , but after all it work.. (Mod author know well about their mod, it not means they understand MO2 how work clear.. sometimes they simply miss use then think user must need to install those setting file in data.. but I actually never see problem . without same file have been overwritten, or these file was specific plug in then needed to load frist etc like CBPC and HDT smp plug in

Thank you though because before no files were generating at all On 11/2/2021 at 8:58 AM, Spider4Chau said: same problem, i cant fix it...helplessness bro. still having the shame issue. I don't think Windows 10 likes FNIS
coolfreaky Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 i would suggest you to search your MO folder in explorer for the DebugData.txt and place it here : :\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE\mods\FNIS Behavior SE\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users . as it is automatically generated by Fnis . it might have been added and redirected to another folder by inadvertence . more likely if you have multi-instance / profiles / games .

Okay I know I just quoted you, but I fixed it. Instead if using "reinstall mod" option in MO2, I completely removed the mod and reinstalled it. I also left my output mod uncheck while running it and then dragged the files from Overwrite to my FNIS output folder. However, I would high recommend trying what coolfreaky suggested below first, just to avoid having to do all that. Hope some the suggestions here help Just now, coolfreaky said: i would suggest you to search your MO folder in explorer for the DebugData.txt and place it here : :\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE\mods\FNIS Behavior SE\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users . as it is automatically generated by Fnis . it might have been added and redirected to another folder by inadvertence . more likely if you have multi-instance / profiles / games . I wish I saw this earlier, I jus spent the past 30 min doing a lot of tinkering but it's fixed now. But I will definitely keep this in mind if it pops up again

When I check the DebugData.txt with MO2, it is not overwritten by any other mod. it is installed in the FNIS behavor mod directory , as coolfreaky mentioned. I suppose the file is included in the FNIS beheavor mod pack and only be used when out put error log so not re-generate or modified by any other mod and generate FNIS patch, will not re-generate it. because I can confrim, my DebugData.txt file time is really old. so if it was missing or happend to be removed, I suppose only way is re-install FNIS behavor mod pack,, as you already done.. But I still do not know why when you re-install FNIS, FNIS could not find it.. because I can confirm the file is in mod pack. (I only use XXL version though) And so the file should be located in the FNIS behavor mod directory,,, without I un-activate it,,I never lose the file... I think there may be more reason,, when FNIS can not find the file..(path problem?) I hope to know,, when it happen ^^; (so I can avoid this issue,,) And one more I think there is almost no reason you avoid to use XXL version,, I strongly recommend,, simply use XXL version for SE..without you have clear reason to avoid it.. because as default it can load more animation. pose files. (of course you can expand it, with use animation fix mroe)
Kristus Kringle Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 The problem is a Windows update. Disable real-time checking in Windows Defender. I reinstalled FNIS, fixed it for a day. Added FNIS to exceptions, fixed it for a day. Disabled real-time checking and that seems to have fixed it for good, fingers crossed.
