So I wanted to release something new to accompany TCRA, my new custom asset repository


under which I will be rebuilding all of my previously released race mods. TCRA is essentially finished,


and after a little pondering, I created a pretty simplistic race of Chocolate Elves.


 


I wasn't very impressed..... I wanted something that would truly showcase TCRA's asset capabilities.


So back to the CK I went. And this is what I decided I would build:

Yeah, I know, you're probably thinking "whoopee Trykz..... another winged race" :rolleyes:


 


Not exactly ;)

Notice the wing position? Yes..... they're animated :)


 


But wait......


 


you're probably thinking "but Trykz..... it would be really awesome if the wings did more than just flap!"


 


And I would agree.... completely:

As of right now, they make use of this external mod for flight capability. But I'm working on integrating 


it directly into the race.

 


 


The body is a custom BodySlide setting I spent an entire evening tailoring to my satisfaction. 


The wings on both the back and head are actual body parts that can't be removed. However, the wings 


on the back can be hidden by equipping a tail slot item.


The body makes full use of Dragonfly's TBBP AND has working butt bounce ;)

I'm currently working on the males for the race, and putting the finishing touches on TCRA. 


I want to released both TCRA and this race together, but if it seems this race will delay things 


too long, I'll hold this off a few extra days.

Looks great, and with the right weapons and armor definitely an awesome race, even without the ability to fly (though for the sake of immersion it is a must).

The idea is a great one and thanks for letting me know of a superman flying mod. Was just getting tired of flying as a dragon lately.

 

This may be because of the camera angle or something but I think the leg is a tad too big for the proportion, particularly the thigh section.

btw where can i get those hammers?

 

The hammers are from this mod. Although the ones pictured I scaled down a bit in Niskope (they seemed a bit too big).

 

I set aside the next 2 days to just relax and spend some time modding. So I should have TCRA and this ready to go by Wednesday sometime, likely in the evening.

Very cool, especially if you could somehow add the free flying vampire lord mod to the race and allow it to switch between flying modes. I always wanted animated wings too, I could never find an animated wing armor piece mod.

So I was about to test this out in Bleak Falls Barrow, when I suddenly realized


it might get a bit tight in there with such a large appendage on my 


character's back. Though they have no collision, I figured the aesthetics


of it just wouldn't seem right. So I came up with a quick and simple solution:

A left hand ring, set to use the tail slot....


 


So if you use one of those ring mods that lets you wear multiple rings on 


either hand, it may or may not remove whatever you have equipped on the


left ring finger. I'll try running one of those multi-ring mods later to see what happens.


 


On another note, I decided against integrating the flight mod into the race. The author 


of that mod is still working on additional features/improvements, and I'd hate to have to revamp 


this not long after release to include them. So I figured it best to just leave the two mods separate. 


If a *final* version of that mod is released in the future, I may look into integrating it then.

So.... TCRA is *done enough*..... for now.


It will be updated with new assets (which are already


in the BSA, but need to be added to the ESM)


as I have more available time. The BSA should 


never require updating, but you never know.


Time will tell.


 


Anyway, back to the Valkyrie race.....


 


I really wanted this race to have some sort of cool ability, so here's what I'm


working on at the moment:

The *creature* in the foreground, is called a Valkyrie's Sprite. It can be summoned


at any time to aide you in battle. It's duration is currently set to 5 minutes, after


which it will disappear and need to be summoned again. It's quite durable,


and completely naked  ;)


It's quite a capable caster.


 


Things are progressing pretty quickly, and this looks to be on track for release


tomorrow, barring any issues with what remains to be done.

Here's an idea: cast the summon, the sprite spawns in behind you and moves up front (does it fly?)... It casts 1 bigass spell (random?) against thy foes, who, being naughty he her site, shall snuffeth. And then poof gone. The way to balance it would be to have either a high failure rate on the spell (80%), an item that does the summoning with like 1 charge, or if possible a randomized appearance per successful use of an item (weapon/staff).

 

Ok just thinkin out loud.

I don't worry too much about balance......

 

mainly because my races are designed to be played at maximum levels of difficulty.

 

I use stuff like Deadly Dragons (with all of it's NPC addons) and SkyMoMod, which really enhances the weak Skyrim default difficulty levels. The Sprites are leveled actors with only the standard Flames spell and no weapons. They were given no perks at all, so they shouldn't be overpowered at all on Master or Legendary difficulties.

 

I could make them fly *if* I made the overall mod dependent on the flying mod linked above. Then it's just a matter of adding the spell to their listbox. But again, that brings about the aforementioned issue of requiring updates every time the flying mod is updated. As it stands, the race performs too well for me to mess around with it too much. But as stated earlier, if and when the flying mod is ever finalized, I'll look into updating this at that time. We'll see.....

 

Other than that, I'm kind of anxious to get to work on my other races (as well as a few new ideas I have). As well as the Skyrim Expanded mod I have in the planning stages at the moment  ;)

Hey Trykz, what mod is that winged helm from?

 

It's not a helm..... 

 

They're actually attached to the head  ;)

 

I don't recall where I got the mesh.... sorry  :(

Fairly new to LL here just recently joined to look up your work in specific. I am looking forward to trying your races and stuff out and making my own personal use NPC's for my own games.   :)   From what I have read and seen pic wise I can hardly wait to start. Currently uninstalling everything I have and reinstalling for a completely clean game. Looking forward to any future work you do as well.

Trykz, couple qustions.

 

1. what body mod are you using for Valkyrie? she looks ripped without going overboard.

 

2. Any chance you may consider releasing the armor set she is wearing? I know it is silverlight, but i like the modifications you did to it and I just wish i had the skills to do somethng like that myself :)

 

 

Also a side note i scoured every ring mod on nexus not a single one for eft hand bi-ped to use the tail slot. how to make the wings disappear in tight small places?
