unpronounceable Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 I have a strange problem where if I'm within the line of sight of a custom follower I downloaded, the game instantly crashes. I've never seen this behavior before and as far as I know, I'm not missing any prerequisite mods. I can even be in the same cell/building as the follower, but only when they're not obscured does the game crash. Has anyone encountered this sort of problem before? What could be causing it? The mod in question was downloaded from tullius.
belegost Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Adjust plugin order to match deployment (Vortex) or overwrite (MO2) order.
Tlam99 Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Bad, missing eyemesh of follower e.g. This things ctd on los. When this reflection stuff starts. Had this once.

Had a skeleton problem on horses that would cause CTD on LOS. A compatible mod that slightly changed skeletons for animals fixed it for me.
unpronounceable Posted October 24, 2021 Author Posted October 24, 2021 I was looking into the mod to identify any mesh or skeleton issues. I couldn't find anything so I ran the game again and it no longer crashes, for some reason. I hadn't even changed anything. I will update this thread if it starts to crash once more.
MrChow Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 I've seen a thread on Reddit not that long ago which helped me to troubleshoot one of private SSE ports (to be specific - Elorwen follower and the Frost Elves race. Turned out her brows had a bad texture format). Long story short, bad textures may cause such behaviour. Dissect DDS files of your follower and make sure all of them can be divided by 4 (i.e. 1024x1024 instead of 1024x1025) and do not use inferior obsolete formats (i.e. 16-bit 1555, 444 or 565).
