SHADOWCAPTAIN Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Ok i downloaded two sims from here. I put the tray stuff in the tray folder and the sim folder in my mods folder. What i got was a square with an x through it. When i click on it it says item not found. What do i need to do or get to have the sims show up in my game. Thanks!!!

If you don't have that pack, then you're going to have issues because required items aren't included in the download. That's the risk that you run when you download anyone else's sims from this site. Other risks include having merged files that could contain any number of files that are outdated or broken. Best advice is to give up on the broken sims that you've downloaded by removing all the associated CC and tray files.

Any sims you download don't get put into game automatically you have to do another step yourself afterwards. Hit F4 in game and it takes you to the Gallery Menu. At the top select Library. Then the Left Filter Menu Bar select Households box and down farther check the custom content box also. Your new downloaded sims should show up here. Click on the sim and you see a big menu pop up. Bottom Right Corner is a down arrow so select that and another map menu opens. Now place the sim in a house or bare lot. If you're new to downloading & using custom sims and checking all the Mods that are included you should stick to downloading sims from the EA Gallery only. Using, sorting, and deleting CC & Mods included is not recommended for new users. EA Gallery Sims are easier to work with as they normally don't have cc included so it's safer for new users as it only has Tray files. But now you have to watch what game packs were used on them and what packs you have in your game and try to match them up. With these Gallery Sims chances are you will only have missing clothing in game if you don't have all the same game packs. But it's usually rather harmless as all you have to do is edit them in CAS to give them the missing clothing. Get to know how to edit your own sims in CAS rather than downloading them. You can collect CC for your sims to use all over the net. Makeup, Clothing, Hairstyles, Jewelry, Shoes, Skin Overlays, etc. When you search for makeup and download anything make a new folder in Mods for Makeup and put everything into the same folder. Extract them if they are .zip or Rar files and delete them after extracting. CC game files are .package files so anything else should be deleted. Now Script Mods are different as you will often have both Script and Package files. Example: Wicked Whims is a script mod Mods/WickedWhimsMod (only 2 files named TURBODRIVER*** in here, one script and one package only) Modding and using CC on sims is easy but you have to learn a bit first and go slowly. Read more and download less.
