Justalittlesexy Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 I've tried a couple character preset mods and whenever I activate the preset in RaceMenu the face looks terrible. How am I supposed to use the mod to actually make it look like the pictures posted on the mod pages for character presets?
Gameplayer Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Well, most Presets make use of different assets from the various mods found on the internet. So what you need to do is find out which ones the author used....Also be sure that your own installed mods are not in conflict with said stuff. Example, In Skyrim modding there is High Poly Head and there is also a Japan and Chinese style heads. Then well there is the normal default head, which is the one I currently use in Skyrim. Has a high impact on the quality of the face, if your using one not supported by the preset it will look like ass. There may be textures for skin, I have used lots of these, I think the current one is Fairskin or Demonic. Skin of course will have a big impact on the color of the faces. Then of course other textures for the eyes, mouths, makeup even. There are a few makeup packs around, I think a good one is called YevMods - Makeup Pack YMMP 2K The big ones to look for are HEADS, Skins....After that yes the other stuff has an impact on the overall look but if your using the wrong head mesh that will throw off the whole thing.
darkconsole Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 yeah i love how in general presets are almost useless except to the one person who made them. which i mean is more or less fine and the point, im not sure exactly if sharing them online was really part of the original intent so much as you having your ez backups.

(offered by mod) 2. check morph slider mods. and use same morph slider mods, (tri) which Preset author used for the NPC 3. try to use same texture mod as Author described for each part. they may mix use texture mods for each face, body part. 4 ask or check which ENB they use, or lighting mods. If it not work sltill, there should be load order problem, then Face mod A overwrite other Face mod B head part nifs. or some morph slider overwriten by other mod and it is ueed when you set value in LM. . or preset author actually miss informed. (it may happen, because NPC preset author sometimes not remember all, which mod offer nif and tri they actually used. At same time, they show pic attractively, so tweak pose, and add expression detail may use Vismes too. (show attractive lip shape easy) even though I use perfectly same character, it easy change with lighting. and angle. + current Facial Expression.
