Switching from OSex to SexLab

Is it save without corrupting or ruining existing saves? Can I continue playing after switching or do I need to make a new character?

Btw, I use fertility mode. Would switching from OSex to SexLab screw up existing pregnancies? Not sure if it matters, but my character is male, and I don't plan on changing his gender anytime soon.

Just be sure no scripts are active when you remove a mod and put another one.

(scripts from the mod you are removing.)

A save clean tool may help, but there is no magic trick.

Best of luck.

Any recommendations for save clean tools?

Not very likely to succeed. Sexlab framework is a master mod and thus is loaded first with other master mods. Thus there is no way to avoid changing load order, which is an almost sure way to corrupt save game. As CPU said in previous post, there are tools to try to fix corrupted save game, but you can't be sure of success.

Probably better to wait until your next playthrough.

You can ofc experiment if you want to. Never remove mods in the middle of a playthrough, so if you want to experiment just try to add Sexlab. Don't remove OSex mod until next playthrough. No matter what you do (except doing nothing ofc), your save game will be corrupted and has to be fixed, before you can continue your game.

First, use any mod-related "uninstall me" stuff in its MCM.

Next, using any additional instruction offered by the mod author as to its removal,

  1. uninstall the mod (OSEX or otherwise) and any patches
  2. open the game
  3. open the last save or save you want to use
  4. Once it tells you you're missing < insert mod name(s) > and finishing initializing
  5. create a new save
  6. clean save with Fallrim Tools "resaver".
  7. save to a new file (I usually prepend "cleaned_" to the source file name)

This should leave you with a clean slate, or as clean as possible.
