Zvron00 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Whenever i load my presets that i have been using for over 2 years now, or whenever I equip any piece of armor vanilla or modded, it changes my characters default skin to a normal cbbe skin with no shine or glow and will remain in that state after unequip or any reequips. This is a problem because I use demoniac's glossy body and the glossiness will only remain on hands and head but body will lose all specular and shine going back to that default cbbe with no shine. I have reinstalled my skyrim and entire mod library twice now and can only assume the problem has to do with the presets but I don't know how to clean them and some of them (including my main preset) are not recoverable since the download I got them from is no longer available. I don't know how to fix this and have begun considering to just say f it and go to SSE. Can anyone send a suggestion before I just make the switch.
myuhinny Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Most armors and outfits have their own bodies underneath them so when you equip a outfit/armor your body gets removed as the body inside the armor/outfit will be used instead and when you remove the outfit/armor your body will reappear. The body nifs inside those outfit/armors are most likely not edited like the Demoniac's body nifs are so the gloss doesn't show up on them. Also if the textures are for the Demoniac body only it could be that the textures only work for the Demoniac body.

I did a bit of testing and i started skyrim with only 6 mods, bodyslide, cbbe, and racemenu and demoniac. If I use any of the default nord presets that come with vanilla skyrim, demoniac works fine underneath the armor or naked, but whenever i load a personal preset thats when the body becomes non-demoniac, the form of my bodyslide remains but the glossiness is gone no matter if the character is now naked or has armor. Is it possible for presets to get corrupted or something like that?
Aldid Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 I'm having a similar problem where my PC will get incredibly shiny skin everywhere except face, hands, and feet. This happens whenever I change clothes, and can only be fixed temporarily by entering racemenu.

I managed to find the source of the issue here, it turned out to be some strange bug from the now defunct mod NPC Appearance changer which could infect savefiles even when not installed, and even just by loading an uncorrupted save and a corrupted save during the same game session!
