anonymous88 Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Hi there, I`ve been away from modding Skyrim since quiet some time now, and want to do another modded "Playthrough" without caring about the main Story much and doning mostly mod Stuff now. The issue with that is, i don´t know in which Order i should install the mods that i`ve picked, i looked up some Guides on it and would probably be able to put some of them in the right order, but i have no idea how to categorize and with that determine where to put most of them so if anyone could help me with the Order i would really appreciate it. Oh and please excuse my bad englisch. I´m not a native englisch Speaker so there a probably a lot of typos and other mistakes, i am sorry for that. here is the Mod list: 04 - Leyenda Skin 4.0 CBBE 4K-73512-4-0 704045066_SLAL_Billyy_Animationsv4.7LE 766663625_BakaFactoryABCLESE2.26V adcSexlife-1.4.2 AddItemMenuLE320_SKSE173-64905-3-2-1557583553 Alternate Start - Sgt. Marge Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Please check the guides linked in the spoiler tag in my signature. They can help you figure out how to get a mod manager installed and use LOOT to help sorting mods. It looks like you may be using Legendary Edition so You'll want the Conglomerate guide and Stability guide to help you get Crash Fixes installed. Reading all the descriptions for the mods also helps, as sometimes the mod author will have suggestions of install order, which LOOT may not have. Each mod on LoversLab has a Get Help button on the download page with support posts that pertain to the individual mod for more information from people using them. Hopefully that will get you started.
Grey Cloud Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Install order is largely irrelevant. Do what @Marg597 suggests. If you aren't going to be bothering with the vanilla quests etc then I would recommend: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38151?tab=files and https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26359 I never leave home without them.
anonymous88 Posted August 31, 2021 Author Posted August 31, 2021 @Marg597 Well, i´ve checked the linked Guides and they did help me, so thanks for that i´ve got about 1/3 of the mods figured out. The problem is the remaining 2/3 because i´ve looked up some other Mod Order Guides for that and basically each one has stuff in a somewhat different Order and now i´m kind of confused on where to put Stuff. @Grey Cloud thank you for your suggestion, i´ll check them out.

Installation order = what I said earlier. Load order = what @Marg597 said earlier. There is no 'perfect' load order. Load orders change depending which mods you have installed. Some people (quite a lot) stress about load orders without any real evidence as to why it is important to get it exactly so. LOOT will get it right 99.99% of the time. On the very rare occasion it gets it wrong it wont be game breaking and is easily rectified via your mod manager or LOOT itself. More crucial is ensuring you have a properly configured and stable game before you load it up with mods. The relevant guides @Marg597 linked will do the job there. Next important is knowing your mod manager of choice.
Sgt. Marge Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 If you are using Mod Organizer(MO), you can change the priority of installed mods on the left hand side, and the priority of the plugins on the right hand side. MO will tell you via an icon in the conflicts tab on the left panel as to which things are being overwritten and which things are winning conflicts. This is important to pay attention to if you have more than 1 mod with the same files in the same path. So you can install everything and then move things around if you see conflicts, and then use LOOT to sort the plugin order. So unless you have conflicts showing up, the install order isn't really an issue. I think Vortex also has a method for showing conflicts but I haven't looked at that one in a while. But whichever Mod Manager you end up using, definitely check out some tutorials on how to use the manager because it will save headaches later.
anonymous88 Posted August 31, 2021 Author Posted August 31, 2021 @Grey Cloud oh, i always thought they are kind of the same thing since in NNM or Vortex which i´m using the Mod Manager asks you if the Mod you installed should overwrite another so i tought Install Order and Load Order are bound together, well that explains why a lot of may modded Playtrough back in the day had issuses... well, better to learn it late than never i guess. And i also thought that there is a somewhat strict Order on which Mods should be loaded when, didn´t realize that it´s far more loose than i thought. With knowing that and the the Guides @Marg597 linked i think i can manage now. Thanks a lot, you really hepled me out a great deal with this.
Grey Cloud Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 5 hours ago, anonymous88 said: Vortex which i´m using the Mod Manager asks you if the Mod you installed should overwrite another It is files and not mods which do the overwriting. For example, if you install two NPC overhauls then if they both change Hulda, one set of files will overwrite the other (Vortex will ask you to choose which will be the winner). If only one of the overhauls changes Arcadia then their is not a problem. The autosort function of Vortex will do a good job of sorting your load order. In other words, you will not need the standalone version of LOOT. Take it slowly and good luck.
