Bluegunk Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 The chopping wood animation has a weird camera issue! Ore mining and all other animations appear to be fine. I verified files via Steam, no improvement. If you look closely at the video below, you will see the camera is tracking the movement of the wood as it is picked up, and then split in half (hence the dizzy twist in view). Wood chopping glitch I'd be grateful for any ideas of how to fix this from anyone who has suffered the same. I have gone through all my camera mod / animation mod settings in depth. I've tried switching these mods off. No luck. Why on earth would the camera focus on the wood and not the scene?!! Mod list: https://modwat.ch/u/bluegunk
anjenthedog Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 For this specific one I believe the first time I saw that particular behavior is when I had installed a free cam mod for wood chopping. (normally you can't pan around while chopping or mining) It's not in my mod list any more so I must have uninstalled it. But I've seen this elsewhere too. for those, not sure why how... Maybe some glitch while the animation is set up? Maybe something that happened prior to the animation? For those, it seems to either go away on the next animation, or if it persists in new animations, reloading an older (sometime a few saves back) save clears the issue, lame as that "answer" might be.
Bluegunk Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 Don't put yourself down! I'm extremely grateful for your time and help on this! I'm clutching at straws here. I have tried going back saves, other wood piles, and taking out everything that affects the camera. Oddly, I have a vague memory of having this exact glitch a few years back in Skyrim LE. I cannot for the life of me remember what caused it. Not only does the camera attach itself to a piece of wood in this animation sequence, it also attaches itself to the wood carrying animation in Leaf Rest, leading to a very bizarre experience going from wood pile to fireplace. I've tried reinstalling Leaf Rest, too.
