ERROR(76) FNIS MO2

Guys help, My Fnis won;t work and it always give me the "rror(76): could not find a part of the path 'f:\skyrim\skyrim le\theelderscrollsvskyrim-legendaryedition\data\tools\generatefnis_for_users\temporary_logs\debugdata.txt'." and even if uninstall everything and start a new one, it still not working.

It happened to me too.

 

Did as what the previous post did; added the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe process to the Windows Security | Virus and Threat Protection | Exclusions list. That solved the problem

Same problem, one day works fine, next day suddenly not. It was driving me insane. 
I fixed with the Windows defender exception, thanks a lot for the solution.

Apparently, Windows 10 Build 19043.1237 and it's defender is the reason why FNIS is glitching out on Error 76. The fix is simply to disable real-time protection in Windows 10, then run FNIS (alternatively change the output folder as well) and it should work.

it will start back up after 5 minutes so keep an eye on the setting while FNIS runs.

Great, thank you guys so much. I was having this problem and was going mad from it. Just temporarily disabling the real time protection did work perfectly fine.

Damn it done everything possible and still bugs me with this BS error  , and I didn't even installed new mods or The F. anything else , it just got temperamental with me and its doing this Fu.. BS for the last day !

im having a issue with the creature pack. ive somehow fixed the error with main mod but once i add the creature pack in MO2 it will give me the error 76 even tho it was fine without it...   nvm fixed the prob lol had to exclude the mod on my anti virus list.

If you are using another form of antivirus, then i guess you could try the same on that - i can can only say adding it (FNIS/Nemesis) to Windows Defender work in my attempt, not sure if it would be the same with other versions.

Sorted it out finally..... windows defender cloud-delivered protection breaks it, might be in conjunction with the Real-time protection.  But disable that and it works no issue

Installed FNIS Behavior SE 7_6 XXL through MO2 and ran the behaviors from MO2 and everything worked great.  Then I installed FNIS Creature Pack SE 7.6 through MO2 and everything had green checkmarks except for User Generated Behaviors.  I ran User generated Behaviors from MO2 again and got the Error 76. 

 

Uninstalled reinstalled regenerated and same Error 76. 

 

What finally worked is that I went into the FNIS folder MO2 installs all the mods in and copied the tools folder which has GenerateFNIS_for_Users.  I then placed just that tools folder in my DATA folder for Skyrim Special Edition.   

 

No more Error 76.

 

This fixed the path problem.  Technically there are 2 'tools' folders but I am using the executable attached to MO2 and I never touch the 'tools' folder in the data path.   I launch The executable from MO2.

 

All of my mods are going through MO2 except for SKSE.   I installed Script extender and SKSE address libraries directly in the Skyrim directory. 

 

Also Manual install Creature pack as you need to right click and set data directory even though MO2 does not flag it red.

Just make sure FNIS is using the correct output path for this. 

 

Here's what I did and it's worked fine for me for more than 2 months.  (I'd only suggest doing this if the Windows Defender solution doesn't fix the FNIS error problem).

I tried everything else that has to do with redirecting fies to different folders and all MO2 settings, nothing worked. I was about to give up.

 

The thing that finally solved it for me was to temporarily turn off malware protection in windows security  (plus everything above).

please don't turn off your malware, spyware, or antivirus programs.  Just add an exception in Windows Defender (equivalent program) to the folder if nothing else works, that seems to fix it for most people. 

 

But you really, really do not want to leave your computer unprotected.

For me it definitely was a Windows Defender permissions thing.  I added FNIS 7.6 and FNIS Creature Pack to the exclusions list in Defender.  I also added FNIS Sexy move too since it crashed in game when I had started it.  FNIS Error (76) stopped after that when running FNIS.

 

2 Notes...

 

I hadn't played the game in a while and had many Win10 updates since.

I also had another AntiVirus program before, when playing, and had deleted it since.  This playthrough is with Defender.

First of all, thanks for every word here. Help a lot. 

Works! Without disable nothing. Excluding four folders

1. GenerateFNIS_for_Users folder. [whatever]tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\
2. MO2 Profile mods folder
3. MO2 App folder
4. Overwrite Mod. I always use a diferent Overwrite mod for each profile so i dont mix things. This need to be configured  in Create files in mod instad of overwrite and select the mod there.

 

This fix for me error 76.

NOTE: the solution will vary depending on what mods you have installed. Here is how I solved it.

1. Settings
 

 

2. Instead of a seperate FNIS Overwrite, I selected FNIS base mod.

 

There is 1 thing worth mentioning, I have the word limit Disabled from RegEdit. I have had issues with FNIS and path before. Had to disable then.
