tuxagent7 Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 So from personal experience, what is the best program to unpack and repack BSA2 for fallout 4 ? I am trying to merge some files with Zmerge When unpacking there may have some corrup files and make my fallout 4 crashes So what i want to do is unpack files, merge them as loose files then with another programs repack them to see what happens Yeah i know about 4096 esl files but still i like a clean load order and see it as a experiment Thank you for contributing your knowledge
Dorabella Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 You can try this BSA Browser He says it also supports fallout IV

Love the added right click mouse button in the windows explorer, don't like that it create a new directory instead of extracting right in there BSA Extract, i like the drop down menu simple just drag and drop extract would love to make it go in the same directory instead of having to choose it.

tuxagent7 Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 I know there is a packer with the cK But wondering if there is anything else that do the job

I use the Fallout 4 Tools from the F4SE folks. Works like a charm. Edit: It works with the command line, but it has a UI. Thank God.. cause I hate command line shite. hehehe

Say you want compressed meshes, but uncompressed sound files... not a problem.
tuxagent7 Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 Whaaa ? I misread the txt file then i didnt know that tool could do both, i shall try again !
izzyknows Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 It will run from anywhere... at least through the GUI. I think the command line it needs to be in the Fallout4 folder.... maybe.. not sure.

Ill try to install it in fallout root and report back
tuxagent7 Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 Ok the link you gave me from the F4SE teams is only a BSA : a command-line tool to extract the contents of ba2 files What you are talking about is Archive2 and that is the program that you get when you install the ck for Fallout 4 I don't know how to get this program anywhere else It goes in the Tool folder in the base game when creation kit is installed
tuxagent7 Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 I must download the bethesda laucher and install the creation kit to have it I don't really want to do that Also don't remember my Bethesda password Is there any other utility ?
