CAN'T UPDATE TO THE NEWEST VERSION

I've downloaded the newest version(july 24th 2021) straight from the website n installed it, but its not working and i still get the ingame message that tells me to update. what should i do?

There has been quite a bit of talk about WhickedWhims, and I may make a thread with a BIG HONKIN WARNING...

TurboDriver, the producer/creator of WhickedWhims had made his last update on June 10th, and it appears to have some major issues causing gameplay crashes.  Turbo's Patreon page gave a warning of some sort.  I'm not completely sure as I'm a TES IV: Oblivion modder.  And there has been talk for weeks on this issue.  It seems he turned auto-updates off until the issue is resolved and the Cottage Living feature is added.

This is rather funny as most of us here have had no trouble with WW right up until July 20 patch day.

Then play Offline until all the mods get updated before updating the game.

Latest WW version was July 27th and it's still working fine.

Before I made this reply, there were complains such as

within the Community board, both nearly back to back almost two weeks ago.

So sufficed to say, there are people that are indeed having issues with the updates.  That much is obvious. 

 

As Husk stated on the 20th, "TURBO is working on an update, don't worry guys.  Hold off on updating if you can, and if you did update... well there's nothing to do but wait." Even so, seeing that there were complaints five days later and now today, there seems to be issues that must still be worked out.

You're basing an opinion off old news.

The current version of Wicked Whims combined with the current Sims 4 game patch work absolutely fine. I know. I'm playing it right now and have been since updating without any issues.

You're late to the party.

Those posts were made right after the game patch hit and it was a big one. It's total normal for the forum to get flooded with people looking for help after a patch like that.

Yes but they were mostly Noobs without a clue about not updating their game until after their mods were updated first.

Happens almost every game patch so it's nothing new around here and most had only one post.

Reading other posts about it first they would have found out the problem and not even needed to post.

 

Then there are the game pirates with old game versions trying to use the newer mods.

Wrong installations and all types of issues posted and many are not even caused by WW but by other broken mods.

 

We've seen it all before and will continue to see it in the future so please put the panic button away it's just another day at the office around here.

There was a tiny update earlier this week, but if you don't want to update again just take your game offline and play.
