can I say that would be an interesting companion mod concept to have a companion who would sporadically follow the player out of the blue. (in a stalker kind of way)

similar to Mysterious Stranger but really needy

just an idea

Not exactly what you describe, but you might want to try out Vault Buddy Follower if you haven't seen it yet. At least fits the role of a creepy follower with an unhealthy attachment.

I took the liberty of thoroughly testing all containers in this version of the Red Rocket basement. I put a piece of wood in every container I found, except the magazine racks and weapon racks (which work as-is, anyway), then fast traveled away to a different cell (I used the Starlight Storeroom player home) and waited a whole week by sleeping. Here are the results...

Upon returning, the main gate was locked and inaccessible again. If you forget the key card inside you're gonna have a bad time, so don't misplace it!

On checking, these are the safe containers (ie, they still had the lone piece of wood in them):

Tool chest, Suitcase, Toolbox and 2 Wooden crates near the entrance

Tool chest, Toolbox in the downstairs craft area

Toolbox, 2 Steamer trunks, 4 Wooden crates, Tool chest in the upstairs craft area

Cooking stove workbench internal storage (duh)

Everything else respawns and is unsafe for item keeping. You will lose anything stored inside those when the cell respawns.

Hopefully Reginald will feel like going over the Basement again and ensuring the containers used are the non-respawning kind... If not, oh well. There's a decent amount of safe containers anyway.

EDIT: Attaching load order from Discord for reference. I don't think anything should mess with vanilla respawn flags in my load order, but maybe I am missing something.

Installed this mod with Vortex, all requirements are met... but the mod doesn't show up in game? Any ideas? I don't use mods that alter Red Rocket, Vortex doesn't give any conflict warnings, all appears to be regularly installed and enabled. plugins included. I'm still low level with my character, exited from Vault 111 and recruited Ivy, and met Dogmeat, that's it. I don't understand what's gone wrong...

That is very weird. It 'just works' in all my builds and the test builds the test team got. People said this a couple of times for this mod but always it was either that it wasn't installed correctly or it wasn't activated yet. Make sure the DLC is available as well.

Ok, I found out what the problem was: I'm silly! ?

I was looking in the wrong spot and couldn't find the entrance. Case closed. I really enjoy this mod and Ivy, which I consider the best companion you could ever have on Fallout 4. Keep up the great job you're doing! Cheers from Italy

Ok, question... perhaps silly question: what does the damn red button near the bedroom's door do!? I clicked it a couple times but i didn't notice any effect. I returned to the basement, after completing a quest, and it was is if I've been there for the first time, all was reset (Ivy's porn mags and all her related holotapes, notes... all gone, sigh...), why? Wait... don't tell me... the damn red button!?

Summons the maid when you first arrive.

Some containers (but certainly not the magazine racks) respawn in the basement. You likely have a mod that is overriding respawn settings somewhere.

The red button summons the maid to you. It sometimes takes a while for her to walk over to you. If you stand long enough at the button, she will walk to you and wait for a command.
