Originally i wanted to write a rand but maybe someone was in a similar situation.

Here is my case.

I registered on rockstar's social club years ago and was using an email that i no longer use. Its most likely deactivated by now. That was 10 years ago.

But Rockstar has that email registered with my steam account. So any time i want to play a game from them that requires the social club account, it wants to sign in with that old email.

Now, i read on their support page to supply my steam account information. Easy enough. I wrote them that i do not have that email anymore and if they could unlink that account.

The answer i got was to log into my old email account and respond from there to them. Duh?

So, seems like i can write off my Rockstar experience.
Though there is a shimmer of hope. I was able to log in into my old Rockstar account. But that does not help me as i can not verify that damn email.

I checked the old email provider and it states that inactive account that haven't seen a login in year are automatically deleted after a year. I did send an email to my old email and its seemed not to have bounced. But perhaps someone else has that email now.

So no Rockstar games for me then.
Thanks to shitty DRM. Isn't Steam already enough?

So that is my experience. Though i have to say, it is unfortunate that i never updated that email account. But its partly because i rarely play Rockstar games. The last time i played with was Max Payne 3. So that's a while back.

In the meantime life happened.

I am actually really disappointing and the support does not help either.

Was anyone in a similar situation?

I am debating if i should get a refund for the purchase and kill my Max Payne 3 as well. It surely will not work either.

Well, i returned the game to Steam.

Also requested my Rockstar accounts to be deleted.

This is just such a waste of time.

Haven't played a rockstar game since the 90s, ubishaft since getting gifted SP game or EA since ME3.

Haven't missed a thing. Gaming is more populous and diverse than ever. Plenty of shit to find.

Haven't watched a Cameron movie since t2 (which is a literal reskin of t1 and one of Cameron's two lost plagiarism lawsuits, the other being Aliens, hrmm a trend.)

Won't be watching any kennedy lucasflm products ever.

Time always tells the truth, and there's always someone else that's probably worth your time.

Totally true.

I think i am disappointed because i had it on my list and was looking forward to it. So it was kind of, yeah man.

No biggy. I have no Rockstar games anymore. I just deleted them from my account.

I do not like the new Star Wars movies either. But the mainstream does like it.

Now, on Netflix i watch tons of Korean shows. Man, i actually like it.

Cameron, dunno. Watched the usual suspects. Terminator, Aliens.

But yes, there is tons of other stuff out there.

That is one reason (being DRM) why i like GOG so much more. I tired of this DRM shit.

Unsurprising.

I avoid game developers who require additional software and registration to play their games, such as Uplay or Origin. I am boycotting their products completely. If it's a product by Ubisoft or EA, it's automatically trash by my standards. The only exception is the Rockstar Launcher. The reason I use it is because I had played GTA 5 for about 3 years by the time the launcher was implemented. So they kind of earned my trust before implementing it. I had also been reluctant to install it for about a year after it became compulsory in order to play the game.

I like playing modded GTA 5, but GTA Online is a pile of shit of epic proportions. Half of the players use hacks, the online experience is a boring grinder, the city is half empty, the enemies are top class snipers, the community is shit, the DLC feels like the same crap under a different sauce. The increasing sci-fi twist of the game is the final nail for the online experience. Can you believe that people spend real money to buy GTA Online cash?

I will give Rockstar credit where it's due. At least GTA 5 is a quality product (ONLY THE SINGLE PLAYER) and the developer has not succumbed to woke nonsense. But their focus on the online aspect of the game and absolute neglect towards the single player is a major disappointment.

I think its the model of DRM that is the problem.

In my view, my steam account should the sufficient. Apparently it is not.

Just got another letter stating they really like to help but please supply this and this. Though i wrote them before that i returned the game already.

I think that there is no way that they would remove that old email. But a new account with them did not matter either.

Today i have several options like 2 step verification. But in the end if you lose one piece of evidence, its just gone.

I do have Origin but even there i was able to recover my lost login. Not sure if they link the account as well like Rockstar does.
In the end, i probably will never play GTA X or whatever because it left a sore feeling that if i ever lose information to my account, its bye bye.

I really wish that games could be on GOG where i pay and i have the game ready to install and use. I think that is how it should be.

I'm an OG Star Wars nerd, grew up with OT, still hate the prequels and think the sequels are pretty much trash but 'Rogue One' is actually really good, in my opinion.  It has a cohesive story, decent characters and moves at a good pace and looks fantastic.  The Mandalorian is also (mostly) worth watching.  I understand the hate for Disney Star Wars but let's be honest... it's been dead since 1983.  Even Return of the Jedi has some pretty big issues.  I'd rather watch 'the Last Jedi' ten times than 'Attack of the Clones' once.  The prequels are some of the worst big budget films ever made and it's all George Lucas's fault because he had final say over everything.

For me, the most sad thing is that we have better mods for Skyrim/Fallout than GTA games. That's my only issue with them. Truly a waste of potential. It was such an amazing experience back then, especially to play those missions like - messing with the man, guardian angels, and most definitely, are you going to San Fierro ?

with 0 mods.

Just imagine if these games were just as moddable as current Beth games like Skyrim etc. They would have definitely turned into something like games of the century etc.

Well, It certainly was fun while it lasted.

I think what pissed me off was the communication with them. Explaining that i bought it on Steam (record) and that i do not have access to my old email. But they insisted to use the old email to verify that i am the rightful owner.

So in the end i just returned the game and digitally gave back any Rockstar i owned. I just do not have time for this.

I remember some dude that had only GTA San Andreas on the PS2. He really was into that game. It was the only game he had. I think. At the time this game wasn't really on my radar. I played Max Payne which i really liked. But with MP3 the community server started.
If you ever lose your email, you quite fucked.
