Gudulba Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Ok, so whenever a SexLab animation starts (triggered by any of the Devious mods I installed I guess), the start is very choppy. It may take 5 to 15 seconds until the animations really start (counting from the first comments regarding sex from one of the NPCs). Then the characters first appear over each other, then separate for the animation to begin, but every transition until the animation start is very choppy. Once the sex animations themselves have started, they are normally smooth. Also when manually advancing to a following scene. Â FNIS runs through fine. Frame rates are normally at 60 FPS during game play. I have disabled debugging logs in most of the mods. Enabling or disabling teleport doesn't make any difference. Â How can I further troubleshoot this issue? What kind of information would be helpful?

What kind of information would be helpful?  Usually signs that your system isn't handling the script load very well.  Best practice would be to severely cut back on your load order (using MO or Vortex to untick things, not remove them completely) and test it out with just Sexlab and a couple of mods to initiate sex, see if it is still choppy then. If so, re-add mods until you find the threshold for your system performance, or maybe a single bad mod doing this (unlikely; far more common to be the totality of mods running than any one specific issue).  Also, open your console and see what is happening. Sexlab is fairly verbose in its console info, so if you see long pauses there, it likely isn't just Sexlab having issues. If on the other hand, the console streams info steadily, then it is just working as fast as it can and your system either isn't up to the task or you have too much going on.

Disabling Debug mode in the Sexlab MCM (one of the last pages of the MCM) should help, but it's still a known issue for a reason. Also starting animations in exterior places takes longer (you can see how SL loads and unloads parts of the terrain like grass 2-3 times before starting the anim proper). I'm not sure if this is addressed in the github version (currently on the making, potential beta 9 soon™?) or with one of the existing patches/tweaks.
