POP MCM not showing and possible load order issues

I'm having a lot of trouble with my mods, I've been trying to figure out what's causing the issues and I haven't had any luck. This is my first time posting so I'm sorry if I did something wrong here, let me know and I'll fix it. I'm running Skyrim LE and using Nexus Mod Manager.

When I start a new game my MCM menus configure and register as normal, and after all that's done when I try to access the menu for POP it's blank. I'm attaching a picture of it along with my load order. I've been stressing trying to get this to work right, and I don't know what could be causing it. I'd really appreciate any help I can get here on getting it to work, or if there's something wrong with my load order.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried following the instructions on this link below, and I haven't had any luck.

I've been looking all over for a solution and now I'm just at the point of posting here for help. Anything is appreciated, I really need help with this. I can't figure it out.

Huh. This is a bit of a doozy, isn't it?

For one thing, it looks like your load order is all over the place. Not too surprising, LOOT is not very reliable, and usually requires a bit of manual sorting afterwards. You can look into how to do this in the link in my signature.

Other than that, hmm....

See if you can generate a Papyrus log. Might help to see that.

Where does it look all over the place?

LOOT is very reliable and seldom requires any manual sorting. Knowledge of how to use meta-rules is enough to stop the need for manual sorting.

Your link is giving 'access denied'.

No you are not. You are using Vortex.

Has that load order ever worked or have you just stuffed all those mods onto your game and been surprised that it didn't work as planned?

If POP is the only mod/MCM not playing then the place to ask is the support thread for that mod.

First of all, I've had far too many load order conflicts with LOOT to ever trust it completely. Second, about 3/4 of the mods that I use have no metadata entered by the author, and I don't have time to enter the metadata for every plugin, so I just use LOOT as a rough sort and manually do the rest. If Hyren has the time I would recommend it though.

As for the link in my signature, it's permissions are fixed now. I need to remember to set permissions when I make a new Google link...

In other words you don't know what you are talking about. There is no metadata entered by the author or entered by the user. It is about simple rules telling LOOT to always load mod A before or after mod B. In 4-5 years of playing Skyrim I have had to do it less than 10 times and usually for NPC overhauls to stop faces getting messed up.

The OP is using Vortex which comes with its own version of LOOT so the standalone LOOT is not needed anyway. The Vortex version works fine and also has the ability to set rules.

Just had a quick look at your 'guide'. You have just proven me correct in another thread where I said that people repeat nonsense. That is the reason you have to keep manually ordering your plug-ins. Skyrim doesn't give a toss about what type of mod loads earlier or later. If this was important do you not think that the team behind LOOT (and previously BOSS) would have done something about it? There is no internal information in a mod which says what type of mod it is, e.g. NPC overhaul, 'big mod', quest mods, etc., so how does Skyrim or a mod manager know where it would like it loading?

Look, I just came on here to try to help with a problem, not get called out by a condescending jackass. If you've got differing information that could prove helpful, than actually post it instead of trying to massage your ego.

Nothing to do with my ego. You posted nonsense which I challenged. You cannot backup what you said and now you are trying to deflect the blame onto me.

I have asked the OP a question and until an answer arrives there is little to do.

Check those bullet points, maybe one will help:

  • make sure PapyrusUtil 3.3 overwrites everything (wins all conflicts)
  • make sure you have Skyrim - Utility Mod 200 LE - UIE Patch also installed if you use UI Extensions
  • ZazResources.esp is the ZAP version from Nexus? It's old and can cause conflicts, remove it! Only use one ZAP version from LL (for example only ZAP 8+)
  • If you added POP to a running game it might fail to initialize depending where you are in Skyrim. Try to add POP on a running game in a small secluded cell without any NPC around.
  • Sometimes it helps to have also DDe (DeviousDevicesEquip) installed if you use POP in combination with DDaix.
  • you might want to move POP further down in LO to let it win conflicts
  • another mod fails to initialize and stops all following mods from loading MCM or scripts properly, check if there are other mods that miss their MCM or fail to load correctly
  • zdd.esp is a bit older and adds a lot of furniture in prisons. POP also modifies prisons, so there might be conflicts (or at least zdd furniture will block jail path finding). Might want to remove it while trying out POP.

After a lot of troubleshooting including turning off most of my mods, I've still found myself having problems with it and I've given up on it at this point. It was a new game, well several attempts at new games actually. I've never gotten the menu to work but the rest of the game seemed to work.

As for the last comment, did, have that, got it from loverslab, I'll keep that in mind if I try again, moving it didn't seem to help. Not sure if something else is preventing the menu script honestly, I have a lot of menus. And noted, one of my other mods required zdd but I forget which now, I've been messing around with the mods too much to remember now.

But anyway I'm giving up on this for now. I'm having other issues with something effecting body scale so I'm going to focus on trying to resolve that. Thank you all for the replies.
