Idea... Devious Device Unequipper - Mass Unlocker.

 

Problem...

You have Devious Devices or Effects, permanently stuck on Nora or an NPC.

Devices may have been unequipped.

Only the Rendered Item is equipped, which is invisible.

Magic Effect is stuck on Player or NPC, without an item... had this lots of times, and read about other people having it as well.

 

Solution...

Devious Unequipper... This applies all the Devious Device Types and Effects, and Unequips them.

 

Utilisation...

MCM... Fix NPC option, look at an NPC to fix them, and choose Fix NPC option.

             Fix Player option.

 

 

Just a possible idea... 🙂

I don't have any strong objection to this concept, but wouldn't it be better to include it with the DD mod itself?  There are still folks working on the "community update" version last I heard.

Fallout 4 Devious Devices hasn't been officially worked on for Years, the only update I know of, is the fan made RC Version. Which is downloadable in the Original Devious Devices Comments Section.

 

There are also the old MCM addon mods, but there are 2 of those, each doing different things.

 

I don't know what the Community Update is, unless you mean the RC Version.

Just experienced something strange. I went to the bank with around 600 caps, first tried it for free, in vain and then had the option to remove all. The lady only had a strait jacket on, so it cost 50 caps. When she got rid of the jacket, the message appeared that the remaining 550 caps would be removed. After completion, the money saved was gone. Is this a feature of DD, or could it be something else?

Yeah I mean the RC version.  I was under the impression that it would eventually be released as an official DD 2.0 or whatever.  TBH I haven't paid close attention.  Maybe somebody with more knowledge can chime in.

Doesn't sound like DDBU behavior.  Which version of DD?  Do you have a save that would let you replicate the papyrus log?

It was version 1.06. Unfortunately I didn't notice that an update was available. Apparently the notification didn't work.
No, unfortunately no save for it. I'll let you know if it happens again.

Version 1.08 is up!  Credit to Egoballistic for the unlocking code developed during KFT alpha testing, which has been lovingly imported for quick distribution into the wild.

 

v. 1.08

-Added support for unlocking Kziitd Fetish Toolset devices.

maybe its time to remove DD from hard requirements? i mean there is already people that use KFT

somehow this mod doesn't work

the MMC Menu is showing but there is no option to get rid of the items at the workbench

 

I can't useit to unequip DD items

it also seems not possible to use it for removing hadcuffs and shock colar.

Hi ! A version without Devious Devices is planned ? DD dependancy is complicated to install in some modpack ( expecialy  Armor Keyword Resource)

The community has been collaborating on a new version for the past few years, currently dubbed "release candidate #9" (RC9). You can find it in the DD support topic. Among other things, it no longer uses AWKCR.

I've successfully used this mod to unlock my restraints a few times in my current playthrough, but I got defeated at Vault 75 and made the long hobble to the Slog and now I don't have the option to unlock anything from the Armor workbench with space, nor can I transfer items. Tried coc to another settlement and the same thing is happening there. However, I turned off the global MCM option and then all of the options returned, transfer and unlock (though it said unavailable). I suspect it may just be the item I'm wearing, a KFT metal armbinder, that's preventing it for some reason.  I'm going to test some other items and combos out, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Make sure you've not installed some other mod that adds alternate activation prompts to furniture like armor workbenches, as they can conflict. For example, there was a new one posted to LL just in the past few days that might, "FurnitureSexPerk." Did you install any new mods around the time this stopped working?

It's been long enough since I actually used the bench to unlock restraints that I can't remember.  I've definitely added mods since then, but I don't think any of them add alternate activation prompts, at least not to workbenches. Looking through my modlist I've added Flyable Personal Vertibirds, Lootable Vertibirds, Let your Hair Down, some outfits, a Spectacle Island cleanup, a pet/feed Dogmeat mod and a separate melee/grenade button mod.  I don't think any of those would be in conflict.  Furthermore, I just tested it out and found out only the KFT devices are not working.  I equipped some DDs and the options were all there, as well as just a pair of RH handcuffs. I did update KFT like a month ago.  Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Yes ma'am. Compatibility Patches 1.0 Beta 2.1, the most recent as far as I can tell. I don't have the most recent KFT installed though, from June 9th.  Guess I'll try that out.

I've been running KFT since alpha testing with a the current version of DDBU, and armor benches always work as expected when wearing KFT devices.  Then I went and tested in each of my main profiles.  One profile works as I expected, and the other works as you described.  So... this is a very confusing problem to me.  I will need to dig deeper and see what's interfering.

 

Edited to add: Okay, I think I found a proximate cause, although I haven't had time to dig into the mechanism.  If I'm wearing a shock collar from RH along with the KFT devices, the bench doesn't work.

As you might have noticed in my screenshots, my character is wearing a shock collar from RH as well. Hey, thanks for the response and the great work on the mod. It's pretty easy to work around, so I'll just keep an eye on this thread to see what comes of it. Thanks again!

I just discovered an item of clothing that is not recognized.
However, the bypass function made it work.

If the strength multiplier for the bypass function is set to zero, then the function is probably disabled. One idea in this case would be to no longer display the corresponding option in the menu or to display a message that the function is not available.


I know, that's complaining at a high level :D

Interesting.  The DD corset items are very inconsistent with their keywords.  I might be able to fix it on my end but it'll be annoying.

Technically speaking, there is always a 1% chance of success even with the strength multiplier at zero.
