BruceWayne Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Don't mention it, I just started myself. It's very daunting and every program seems to have its own little quirks. And seeing some of the general tutorials on how to make certain things, the "pros" almost always use a different program for certain tasks. For instance Maya for modelling, ZBrush for making high detail meshes, Maya/Blender/Max for UVs, 3DCoat/Topogun for retopology/low-poly meshes and Photoshop for textures. It's nice of you to let others use your stuff, there are not many people like that out there anymore. As for the materials, I'm assuming that max works like other programs in this regard and you are able to assign different or new materials for your imported objects. I'm not sure, if they play a role in the .nif export though, the way .nifs handle materials/textures is a little different than the 3D applications I've been using.
